Tony Pauline: Campen was Tepper's "eyes and ears"

I like Frank Reich as a person, but he does not have the ability to command a locker room or a coaching staff. The all-star coaching staff looked good on paper but the second it looked like it wasn't gonna work everyone went into self-preservation mode trying to save their own jobs.

It's wild to me that one of Tepper's rats is the same dude coaching one of the absolutely worst units on the team. If I did my job as poorly as Campen did last season, I'd duck every time my boss came nearby.

I wonder if this reporting has anything to do with Dave & Nicole always observing OL practice?

Well…he was blaming the sacks on Young and his lack of dropping to the right depth on setup

Whether he was right or wrong, that was a conversation for himself and the coaching staff not the GM and Tepper

It is called saving one’s ass
