It is early in his career, but he hasn’t been that good playing from behind or missing one of his superstars around him. He’s been fortunate with a lot of dropped ints. He’s really really good in their system, but he’s the, relatively speaking, weak link of that offense.

That offense definitely looked limp in the second half of the season. For whatever reason though they figured it out come playoff time after somewhat skidding their way in.

They also always have a sturdy O-Line. 

It was a definite risk moving on from Alex Smith but it was painfully clear he wasn't going to get them over the hump. That said, no way they had any idea Mahomes would become what he has.

They've about hit the minimum talent level on offense. Mahomes is working magic but there are limits to everything.

      It’s definitely a bit of a crapshoot, but Joe covers the team for a living—there’s a baseline expectation that he should have a deep, working knowledge of the roster, positional groups, and overall team needs. That kind of familiarity should come through in the analysis. At times, though, it feels more like he approaches covering the Panthers as an assignment rather than something he’s genuinely invested in. When you read some of the other beat writers at The Athletic, the contrast stands out. There’s a noticeable difference in how deeply they dive into roster construction, scheme fits, player development, and front office philosophy. Their work often feels more detailed, more nuanced, and more connected to the day-to-day reality of the team. That’s not to say Joe doesn’t provide value, but compared to some of his peers, the level of insight and depth just doesn’t always feel as sharp or as thorough as it could be

      Who was better Jon Beason or Jrod???, for college prospect terms in their drafts...   I think its clear and Jon was what 25th?   Jarod does have luke-like traits and that was 9th overall.   I feel Jon had him covered tho....
