The only other thing i want in this draft (other than offensive play makers) is an edge rusher to either put on the other side or replace him if we don't keep him.

We can get a good one with our first or second pick and still load up in offensive play makers.

Well, honestly, he was right about Norman’s worth. He never can close to 2015’s career year and he certainly wasn’t worth the money the Redskins gave him. You would have hoped we could have gotten more value via trade, but no one in Washington was happy with that signing when it was over.

The way it was handled was the worst possible option on the table. We were coming off a Super Bowl run. We approached FA like Norman would be here. We tagged him leading the locker room to believe he'd be here. Then we yank the tag because Gettleman was more interested in winning dick measuring contests than he was in assembling a football team. That forced us to spam picks at CB just to field a secondary and sent the entire locker room in a tailspin of WTF just happened???

Yeah. Have to concede that to Dave, especially with hindsight in play. In isolation.

In the big picture he - Gettleman - fuged us hard in the secondary around all of that. It is kind of coming back to me a little, aarrgghh.

If I am remembering correctly it was a clear example of his enormous ego.

We need to get past Burns so that we can get deals done with our other free agents

Yes that's the other side to this. Really you want to know what you're doing with Burns before free agency. It would be foolish to tag him not knowing if you're going to trade, extend him or let him play under the tag. Before you know it you get to training camp and have no new pass rusher and Burns holding out

    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
