Hurst cut

I'm talking game watcher.  Jekyll Hyde.  Especially 2022 where he sort of emerged.

Yeah I know what you mean. There's an NFL QB in there somewhere though, definitely could sit out a year and learn would be a huge boon for him I think. Great, great value if he falls into 3rd round or later.

Ian Thomas is the new Brenton Bersin in that he somehow manages to stay on the team year after year of being terrible.

If Dan doesn't cut him to save $6 million in cap, then I'll fully believe that Ian has dirt on either Dave or Nicole.

Just let it sink in that Ian had 56 TOTAL YARDS RECEIVING YARDS LAST YEAR.

Bersin wasn't terrible, no matter how much hate he gets here. He didn't care about taking a hit over the middle and had hands of glue. If you asked me who I trusted to catch the damn ball on 3rd and whatever in the clutch, give me Bersin all day. His game had a lot of shortcomings, no doubt, but having reliable hands wasn't one of them.

Per Over The Cap, vets with upcoming roster bonuses:

- Donte Jackson (3/16 due $4 million)

- Hayden Hurst (3/16 due $1.85 million)

- Ian Thomas (3/16 due $1.5 million)

- Von Bell (3/16 due $3 million)

- Taylor Moton (3/17 due $3 million)

I had no idea that Thomas mowed the owner's yard.  Good work if you can get it.  (I am on fire with my humor)

Seriously, I have to think this roster is about to be overhauled.  The Burns move was due to the deadline.  The way I read this, Hurst was unwilling to take a pay cut, so that decision is easy.

I loved all the other FA moves, including sanders. But 100% hated this move. The guy I wanted was Schultz and was shocked that houston only got him for 6.5million after dallas tagged him. Then comes news 6 year 30 million deal for never done nothing hurst. ????? WHY ????

Fitfugup had issues identifying talent to sign and what he had on the team. He should have seen tremble and hubbard taking the steps to be the starters, but he dropped bags of cash on sanders and hurst both of whom could be in the top 5 FA busts.

    • I hate to praise Atlanta but what they did was not dumb. The only issue is where they drafted Penix. #8 overall was very high for a QB with Penix’s injury history. But it wasn’t a bad decision. I wish the Panthers took a broader approach to finding a franchise QB after Cam.  Cousins is old and recovering from a serious injury, so he is obviously a temporary placeholder. It makes sense they hedged their bet on Cousins, because Atlanta was burned by holding onto Matt Ryan too long while his skills degraded. If Cousins can still play, Penix gets to sit on the bench and learn which has proven to be a winning strategy for developing young QBs. If Cousins sucks or gets hurt again, they have a legit backup plan to see what they have in Penix.  Where are the Panthers if Bryce gets hurt or sucks again this season? The season is over and they’ll be considering drafting another QB next year.
    • Same as when Jordan Gross said that having to block Julius Peppers made him a better player. But I mean no sh*t, having to block one of the best DE’s of all time will up your game. I bet Gross went up against other DE’s in games and was like, this is nothing. Horn isn’t that level of player obviously, but Legette has his work cut out for him going against Horn in practice. The coaches should be able to tell pretty quick what they have in Legette.
