On paper sure. But Cousins is coming off major surgery and no spring chicken. Throw in a retread HC in first year back and things might not go as great as you'd think.

The flip side though is they have the most talented roster in a division of ass with the Panthers being the taint.

If he is fully recovered for sure. Falcons have been a QB away from winning this division the past few years. Cousins is probably the best QB in the division now.

 

Also can I get some credit for calling this weeks ago before news broke?

 

Everybody said Fields was going to Atlanta. Cousins was always the better option because he's a better passer and they have guys who can make plays with the ball in their hands.

      I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.

      Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.

      Only way Canales is fired is if we are attrocious everywhere....  defense /special teams and offense..  There are enough "questions" on if BY9 is the guy that ownership wouldn't fire the coach for "just" mid qb play.  Especially with as talented a roster that has played "well enough" to win some tough football games and hang in there against the top tier of the NFL ...(mostly).   Now total team suckage..yeah .. but I don't see that happening.
