He had a really good year last season and the Ravens and their fans all want him back still. Him leaving opens up a big hole for the Ravens. Meanwhile, the fan base for the worst team in the league thinks we're too good for him.

Nop. You missed the point. Too bad for him. We need to build a roster not try to eek out wins with the  traveling wilbury's.

I'd rather wait and see if the Chargers end up releasing Joey Bosa or Khalil Mack.  They have to do something today because they are over the cap.

Bosa is a bit too injury prone for my liking, but Mack would be an amazing signing to help instill a new, tough culture.

I doubt it will be reasonable. I liked that we seemed to be officially tanking but if we start signing 1-2 year deals for older vets that aren’t long term, we are just right back to the 5-7 win range screwing if draft slots when we need that.

No team/owner/headcoach/player will EVER go into a new season with the intention to "tank".  There is just too much at stake.  Will a owner be happy if attendance at games goes in a downward spiral if the team doesn't perform? NO! Will players be happy if their value goes down if they are not put in a postion to shine? NO! How about the coach(es)? Do you think they'd be happy with a dismal season? NO!   WE WERE NOT PLANNING ON TANKING AT ANY POINT....

I think it’s unavoidable in the salary cap era that teams go through cycles. A new staff will have some rope and time to set things up.

If Canales is a good coach and Young lives up to the #1 pick hype we’ll still prob stink this year lol

enjoy the rebuild!

    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
    • I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking?    I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued.
