Payton Wilson on being a top LB, Luke Kuechly and inspiring his North Carolina town

Recommended Posts

Injury history concerns me also as well as the mediocre results with former NC State players, all due respect to Wolfpack fans. Personally, I’d go with Edgerrin Cooper out of Texas A&M. Instinctual MLB that’s a heat seeking missile on blitzes and has good coverage skills. Would be a good complement with Jewell and eventual replacement for Shaq.

the (bad) luck we've had with perpetually injured players over the years has e hitting the brakes with this one. i love the potential havoc he can bring. i hate the potential to get and stay hurt.

Yeah unless he drops to the later rounds we can't afford the risk associated with him.

Wilson is intriguing and I do love my Wolfpack but I worry with the way jury history.

Yes, you should.  He is a stud, but even in that photo, he is wearing a shoulder brace.  for a LB, a shoulder problem can be devastating.

2 things

1 - Panthers should just take him off their board because of injury.  Good player.  Too much damage already to his body IMO to come in and play ILB.

2. let's stay away from NC State guys for a minute.  We haven't been exactly hitting homeruns there (no offense State fans).

    • I think in all honestly, the final 2 games are carrying most of the weight in a lot of Bryce talk IMO.    During the window where he "blew it out of the water" window......were a lot of games where he was not above average.  AZ is largely one of those stat sheet games.   Where the stat sheet reflects QB play that didn't exist in the game.  That game was all Chuba.  Meh vs Dallas.  Meh vs Philly.  Meh vs Giants.  Probably average vs Tampa, Den, Saints.  Bryce made HUGE strides vs what he was.  We should be happy.   But when you start comparing him to the rest of the league.....people I think are going too far.  His best aspect in reality.....is his scrambling.  And that's probably not a great thing give his size.
    • Mays and Zavala looked lost in the Reich offense.  Granted Zalava was probably playing too soon due to injuries but he looked terrible.  This new staff seems to be doing well with our OL.  I also wonder if having two vets in Hunt and Lewis just made life that much easier on whoever was/is playing center.
    • What the Panthers should target in order (via free agency or via trade): 1. Julian Blackmon  2. Mike Hilton 3. Jaire Alexander 4. Jalen Ramsey
