I wouldn't shock me if the try to convert Pickney to TE.  They keep holding on to these underweight TEs on the PS like Matthew and Pierce.  I think even Sullivan was lite when he first got here and has put on weight since.  Problem being we can't find the complete package.  We either have blocking TEs that aren't proficient pass catchers (Thomas and Tremble) or guys like I previously mentioned that more like tall WRs, but can't block for nothing.

I don’t think Pinkney has the body type to bulk up to a tight end. I’ve watched him and he is a pure receiver. It’s possible he could get up to 240 and play around an Isaiah Likely mold but I’m not sure. He reminds me a lot of DJ Chark.

I guess if I had to bet a dollar….I’ll guess the Gamecock C.  Only because we need a C and for whatever reason the Panthers have an unhealthy relationship with the Gamecocks.  But it is weird how different franchises gravitate to dudes from certain schools.

and I have no idea if he wasn’t even an average C,  I do know that OL got beat like a drum his whole career

To be fair we (Gamecocks) put out a lot of good pros. Name the last bust that came from us at wr that was drafted? Outside of maybe Ace Sanders there aren't many. Even Damiere Byrd has had a decent career from where he was drafted.

Why all the ILB's and no help on edge?

Apparently this draft wasn't loaded with edge help. I think I heard that after the 1st round the pickings were slim and would need a lot of development. Whether that is true or not I couldn't say.

Coker will have a great mentor in Theilen.  Theilen was an undrafted rookie as well.

Each year I pick  UDFA that makes the team or PS. Coker is my man in 2024.

Outside of Smitty really liking him I love that he's a great route runner.

There's plenty of room on the Coker bus for everyone. Glad others are excited for him too.

I'm excited for any receiver that can take someone's spot in the wr room. Same goes for any other room in the building. I'm that desperate for anything positive.

SC is SEC, they are the highest competition in college ball. Maybe think asbout like SC is generally a basement type, ands they play against the best. So a WR from SC that is succeeding is probably doing it against a bit tougher competition than the guys from the best teams.

    • I think starting this week you gotta work in Tremayne out there.   You don't got to bench XL but Tremayne just seems to be clearly a better WR at this stage (despite XL having the physical tools).   I think waiting on Coker is malpractice.
    • I don't like much about this team BUT WE ARE GONNA WIN THIS THING BABY LETS GOOOOOOO
    • I agree completely.  I’m not absolving XL of his errors and shortcomings, but week 2 was definitely less an issue with him as it was QB and coaching/scheme.     It’s becoming abundantly clear, not just with XL, but with everyone on the offense, our coaches are not crafting a game plan to play to their players’ strengths, but rather they’re creating a game plan and then trying to fit guys into it where each position is treating each player as interchangeable and they’re not.  The breakdown I watched also discussed how no one expected XL to be destroying people with his route running coming out - that would have to be refined.  So, the poo we’re seeing, we can’t really blame him for.  He has gotten open enough often, but the passes are often off-target.  And he would likely excel more as a guy who can threaten with the deep ball to take the top off the defense, but we don’t have a QB that can throw that pass.
