Offseason Topic: Most Under Appreciated Panther

As the title suggests, who is a player you feel had a big impact on the team but was under appreciated?

My nomination would be Mario Addison

- Was always the 3rd or 4th best player on the d-line (played with Hard, Peppers, Allen, Star, Short, Johnson)
- Played with motor, would generate pressure and get clean up sacks.
- Ultra reliable
- Played both DE and transitioned to OLB when Rivera changed to a 3-4 in 2019

Never a stay but a true testament of a core player you need on the team.

Brother's death adds 'fuel to fire' for Panthers' Mario Addison - ESPN - NFL Nation- ESPN

Other considerations:
- AJ Klein
- Dan Connor

1. Wharton

2. Gamble

3. Buckner

4. Delhomme

5.  Ginn Jr. - my most controversial, even if he dropped the ball, his role was centric to altering/impacting what a D could get away with vs those teams.

Good call on Warton.  He got moved around the OL and never missed a beat.

We all took shots at Gamble including me but in reality he was a quality starter for us for many years and worth the pick

I went back and watched a lot of the 2015 games on youtube and Kurt Coleman was a beast that season, and very underappreciated and forgotten in the annuls of Panther history

Currently, Shaq Thompson. All time Chris Gamble.

Shaq Thompson never had a chance to live up to expectations considering who he was following.

I still think he has underperformed based on his draft position though. Overall solid player but first round LBs need to make pro bowls.

Beason might be one.

Joke answer Eddie Piniero.

Jeno James is my blast from the past name I haven’t heard in a while.

As far as Shaq, we have been blessed to have some great linebackers over the years, the standards are really high.

Speaking of, Will Witherspoon. I think he was about rightly appreciated though.

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
