Good observation here and I suspect it's a little of both. Which is still better than Rhule who didn't know he was a deer in the headlights and got everyone killed.

I definitely appreciate Brandt being on the phone making trades vs Rhule on the phone trying to trade with Bill Belichick. Whether the picks and coaching will be decent we'll see. Also keeping an eye on if he Canales can get anything out of our previous draft busts, seems like Ian Thomas and TMJ are not in his doghouse whatsoever

I think the Teppers and panthers media is completely lacking self awareness all things considered.  Given whats transpired say in the past 18 months or so, you would think they would tell the people who put this together to keep them completely out of it.  But alas there they are talking about players they like and wanting to trade up etc.  I know its minuscule in the grand scheme of things but they are pretty much universally hated across the board and its best if they just faded in the background for a while.

Not sure if Canales is a complete deer in the headlights in the draft room or if he's just not as annoying as Rhule and knows when to filter himself

I took it as a positive that he trusts Dan and stays in his lane. Sign of maturity and confidence

The Panthers Blueprint:

Puts out a 43 minute episode about FA and Draft with the Teppers getting 1 minute 30 of collective Screen Time

The Huddle:

fuging Teppers always getting involved front and center.

I mean the optics certainly blows considering we heard they were stepping back.  Maybe they know the fanbase hates them maybe they dont.  Its tough to totally get on board with this new regime if you think the teppers are still pulling the strings.  One way to alleviate that, simply tell the team that put this together to not focus on them.  Simple.  Again its minuscule all things considered but it doesnt really give us faith that they are truly stepping back.  Nobody gives a fug who you like in the draft nicole.

You of all people should, she's the one that wanted CJ

Meh, all I heard was "conviction, everyone in the building liked bryce" and the schefter blurb seemed a bit of CYA and hindsight

We will never know but thats really not the point, both need to stay the fug out of morgans way if this is going to work

Ultimately, I agree with you, they need to let the football people do football stuff and shut the fug up. However what I saw in the video was just that, it didn't scream they were running the show or highly involved like last year where they went to all the pro days and were constantly involved during the draft. It was one or two spoken lines and all were contained in the draft room where all owners are on draft day.

At this point I just think the fanbase has collective PTSD whenever Tepper's face is shown, so the instant reaction is:

dave chappelle hate GIF

Even when he's just kind of sitting there. Which is fair because he's a gigantic asshole and has run our favorite team into the ground ever since he bought it.

they are tone deaf for sure and great post

I liked Canales in this video.  Dude is a hype man of positive energy but also knows when to chill.  He's new to this as well and is probably just sitting there taking everything in and learning.  Perhaps he's just of the mindset that it's his job to coach up what players he is provided but he did put input in when needed.  I feel he's a guy that also puts trust in his coordinators and their judgements so a lot of things were probably already talked about and went over when they came up with their board.  He probably had more say during that process I'd guess.

If anything, I wish Evero had more say in the video but guess that makes sense with the heavy offense picks.  Evero is a guy who has an ability to make something out of nothing as we seen already.  I'm excited to get HIS guys on the team because right now, I trust his judgement on players.

if there's any possible angle you can take to say the panthers suck and will continue to suck from the top down, people are going to find it...because that's the only angle they are looking from.

it's old and it's tiring.

this 100%

Watch the video from 35min to 37min.

Tepper is still clearing giving his input and Dan is clearly looking for his approval…and this is the edited version to make T look good.

Given his track record, I don’t like his influence in that room.

It may have been a small part of the video, but it was 3 full days of draft time.

I don’t mind T being there, but I don’t like how Dan doesn’t seem comfortable making a decision without T giving the nod.

everything shown is Panther PR essentially and edited exactly how the team wants things to be seen and perceived.

David Tepper is David Tepper.  It proves to be that way every year.  With everything he is involved in.  There is no reason to assume anything has changed or likely will.

    • couple more things re: extreme hots and colds and the EV use tax. In the winter months, I can confirm that the range isn't as far, but it has never given me range anxiety except the first time I made a trip to Myrtle Beach and wasn't accounting for it. I just had to detour and use a Supercharger for 5 min and the rest of the trip was no issue. Summer months have never been an issue at all.  NC has a $140.25 EV Registration fee every year, which amounts to the gas/use tax for ICE.
    • Just seeing this thread, and after browsing, I figured I would drop in and add my 2 cents. I hope this answers some of the questions or misconceptions that I have noticed.   I have owned a 2021 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus since Dec 2020, and love it. Absolute best car I have ever personally owned.  Current daily driver of 100 miles round trip to work and back.  Level 2 Charger at home in Garage.   The battery in my car was still designed to charge to ~80% for daily usage, only going above for trips etc preferably. The current batteries they recommend to charge to 100%.   1st year was in an apartment, 40 miles round trip at that point. Would highly depend on public level 2 charger at the library near me, and would also use 110v at work occasionally on weekends. Supercharger for travel. It wasn’t the most optimal, but I made it work. No maintenance in this year outside of tire rotations.   Years 2+, I am now driving 100 miles round trip to work. Level 2 charger in my garage.  I get home from work at ~25% charge, and charge back to my daily 80% in ~3.5hrs. On 110v, you can expect that will be over 24hrs. So for daily driver usage you will want a level 2 charger. For piddling around town, 110v will probably be fine. I had a part fail that was covered under warranty, and tire replacement/rotations for maintenance.     Tires: I have 99k+ miles on my car currently. I will put my 2nd set of tires on it at ~110k.   When I have had people ask me how I like my car, I always show them these 2 pages from the Tesla app. The numbers there are based on what I pay for kWh ($0.11) vs est cost of gas in NC at $3.93 per gallon. People who are concerned about the higher cost vs ICE probably don’t figure in the gas savings, or time/cost getting oil changes etc.  My car payment isn’t that much higher than any other car I’ve owned (shrug).   I know this is personal, and I don’t like the guy either, but I would not let Musk keep me from owning the brand. Thats like Henry Ford keeping you from owning Ford for, well….   Tesla currently have the best charging infrastructure for travel. Longest trip I have made is to Williamsburg VA from Triangle region. No issues getting there, no range anxiety etc. Sure stops can take longer for charging etc, but they are mostly setup at restaurants, gas stations etc for breaks, but ideally you’re not charging back to full at a stop. The best way to travel is to charge enough for you to get to the next stop. It’s faster at the batteries get juice faster when they are lower.  I have never seen another brand using Tesla superchargers tho I have heard it’s coming. But I have seen assholes pull their boats horizontally in charging stations 😉   If you are curious about how an EV would play into travel, check out https://abetterrouteplanner.com . Put in any EV you want, it will show you the path, time and time per charge etc. Great tool.
