I didn't like him as a passer in college.  Didn't think he'd translate to the NFL very easily.  His stats look pretty good, but he limited the Michigan offense quite a bit.  I saw him as like 3rd round pick or later.

Yeah if you watched full games none really stood and as a whole they could get meh but if you cut up all his big time throws I think his best football is ahead of him. He has a helluva arm and there’s not a throw he can’t make I expect Kevin O’Connell to get the most out of him

Frankly, after 30 years, i am sadly investing the minimal

…something about watching the chiefs and jags having their starters out on the first series of a meaningless exhibition game from a win and loss perspective and the Panthers not, just strikes me as gutless

This time around, this pro franchise will need to show  me, and  i suspect others, that the are worth the time investment

Expecting a TD from a pro team, continuing from last years, is too high a hope

i suspect the Jets are going to best the crap out if them in practice thus week…because…they can

The Jags and Chiefs understand the path to execution starts now.  It is a path the Panthers haven’t found in 7 years

    • QBR is the worst one because it hides behind the cloak of being "proprietary."  ESPN does not publish what the actual basis of QBR is. There is no way for other analytics guys to even critique the math/methodology involved because no one outside ESPN knows what it is.
    • Don't underestimate how a bad hire can flip that on it's head. IMO, this was a mutual parting of ways because he likely would have been canned otherwise. Also, I am willing to bet his media job lasts until a good HC opportunity presents itself.
    • I doubt they cut him or injury settlement or anything, he wil get  his IR stint I assume. That 5th year option money is fat too. He won’t walk away broke if he has to retire.  And we have the 12 month window if it goes like that.    I think best case is we find a talented LOT to replace him, maybe he is good enough after healing to slide over to ROT and we can save on the Moton deal for 2027.  Moton is on tap for 28.4 million, and change, for 2027 and he he getting close to the end, I think. Kind of thinking if we do 2026 with him it would be time to move on afterwards.  It is high finance.    PS between WR, OT and QB salaries you can spend all your money. If you can draft we’ll I would think you can play the musical chairs game with the rookie contracts and not have all three as expensive vets at the same time. Somehow.
