If you cut it's for good reason. I don't want any of those bums available.

I wouldn't say all players that are cut are bums. most are cut due reasons such as salary cap, bad team/scheme fits, needing roster spots for other positions, etc.

if the players that were cut and were able to find a more suitable team/situation, they can provide more uses and services to a different team

Good teams improve in every way they can.  Now we are focusing on the bottom of the roster.  This may include considerations such as the cap, team chemistry, versatility, special teams ability, etc.  I doubt any of these players will sell a million of their jerseys, but they will practice against the starters.  They will step in and hold down the fort when there is an injury.  A good second team is very important.  Why is this hard?

The Panthers added some depth at needed positions Wednesday, after making three waiver claims.

The Panthers were awarded former Saints guard Calvin Throckmorton, former Jets linebacker Claudin Cherelus, and former 49ers cornerback D'Shawn Jamison.

    • Not only for Andersen but the whole team, having not beat the Habs this season before tonite.  Shows them that they aren't jinxed.
    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
