Yes we will have #1 in 2025

The truth is, the offense is set up quite well for a young QB now. The O-line is playing well, despite Young's play. The receivers are getting open, wide open, and we have a good running back stable. Take the QB, and continue to build around him in 2025. 2026 is all about defense.

Has anyone ever ended up drafted a QB #1 and 3 years later drafting another QB at #1?

Boston Yanks in the 40s.

Rams are the closest with Bradford and Goff. Then they bailed on Goff after 5 years for an old vet to win a SB.

In the modern draft era 28 QBs have been taken #1 and 8 teams have taken multiple QBs at #1. Patriots 2 (Jim Plunkett 1971; Drew Bledsoe 1993) 22 yrs- Falcons 2 (Steve Bartkowski 1975; Michael Vick 2001) 26 yrs - Panthers 2 (Cam Newton 2011; Bryce Young 2023) 12 yrs - Browns 2 (Tim Couch 1999; Baker Mayfield 2018) 19 yrs- Bucs 2 (Vinny Testaverde 1987; Jameis Winston 2015) 28 yrs - Bengals 2 (Carson Palmer 2003; Joe Burrow 2020) 17 yrs - Rams 2 (Sam Bradford 2010; Jared Goff 2016) 6 yrs - Colts 4 (John Elway 1983; Jeff George 1990; Peyton Manning 1998; Andrew Luck 2012) 7, 8, 14 yrs.

Does not look like a list you want your team to join.

To get Bryce young, we traded DJ moore, CMC (for the draft capital), The 8th pick in 2023, first overall in 2024, and what will be the first pick of the second round (basically a first round pick).  Bryce is not only going to be the worst first overall pick in NFL history, but this will easily go down as the single worst trade in NFL history and I cant see a situation someone does something this stupid ever again.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
