You have 4 years of control, CHEAP control.

I think the best overall player on this list is Hubbard, horn just misses too many games and he doesnt look like the rookie seat belt guy anymore.

That 2022 class is woof, icky is playing better but not enough to carry the whole class.

2024 is looking like 2025 results, but XL is better than I thought at this early stage.

Im still pissed about rhule using that 6th for a long safty that was out of league before he got the plane ticket to the queen.

Morgan needs to fire the lot and open teppers purse to hire real scouts that can find more than 1 player out of 7 picks.

The scouting department is the cause for bad panther football.

A lot of it is drafting players that fit systems run by coaches that are no longer here.

But yeah, the crack scouts that brought us BY also drafting these guys.

I member RR trying his 3-4 hybrid in the last year and member phil snow with his 3-3-5 college mess.

One of my draft gurus has always said good players can play in any system. Mmaybe what 3-5 of them are "good" out of 30 picks?? That a 10% hit rate, i bet some teams have a better UDFA hits over the same period.

Get rid of these bum-ass scouts, period.

The former, huge factor. No continuity.

The latter, I don't believe they were the reason for Bryce Young, all the other draftees, yeah. Big hand in that. But the last couple of drafts looked like coaches influenced some things. Getting their guys. Evero wanted DJ last year, for example. Canales wanted XL I think. Stuff like that is mixed in.

People are pointing to the different coaching and GMs but we’ve kept the majority of our regional scouts and personnel directors throughout this time. Their reports are what get into the GM’s hands come mid-December.

Crazy we have kept rolling through these guys with multiple regime changes.

As awful as we’ve been, we have a pretty close trajectory to what the 49ers did. Really bad ownership, bad coaches, bad players and QBs… hired the right young offensive coach, found the QB on the roster after trading the farm for a bust… we can be competitive in 2025 and a legit playoff team 2026 if Canales is the guy and DM continues to build the roster, he did a great job flipping the OL and WR in just one offseason. Do DL and LB this off season

Rivera went to a 3-4 his last year because our beloved owner “suggested” it would be best….as the story goes.

Bad drafting will eventually run any team (see Patriots Brady dynasty)

Bad drafting + trading away future assets every single year for another new QB + the bryce trade would absolutely tank any team to oblivion

It's a miracle we are competitive

plus add in the sam darnold trade- 2nd 6th and future 5th.

I mean panthers would have missed anyway.......but still like you say its makes things much harder to not only miss on picks but miss on big trades too.

it is the main reason for losing.

We have drafted well in the past and drafted stars. Ex, CMC, Burns, DJ Moore. We just traded them all away for nothing. When we do have talent, we never keep them too. Horn needs to be extended even with his injury history. We just can't keep letting talent go away for nothing at this point.

Burns isn't a star and the rest were quite a few drafts ago..

    • I think a premier ILB in the Panther's tradition (Beason, Mills, Luke, Morgan) would be the best pick and the best way to improve this team. Here me out---those of you screaming for QB need to realistically approach the situation.  We are not drafting a QB early barring a late season Young meltdown.  Bryce is getting a fifth year--and he will start in 2026 and probably in 2027 barring some major meltdown.  This season has a ton of "fallen angels" or QBs with the skill set to develop into an NFL starter.   In the second or third round, you draft your possible qb of the future.  Scratch these probable first rounders: however, the next six or seven have tremendous potential, and if you draft a QB like the Packers do and develop him for 2-3 seasons, these QBs would give us an upgrade at #2 QB and 2 years to groom him in the event Bryce does not earn a huge second contract. About WR:  Coker is a solid #3 and Horn gives us a thrilling option on STs and in the slot.  He was a nice pick.  TMac needs a strong #2.  XL does not seem that interested in the job, and he seems a bit over his head in the NFL.  Yes, we could use a solid WR, but I am not sure a rookie.  I think we pinch some pennies and redo some OL contracts and make WR our biggest priority in free agency.  Draft a sleeper late. Tight End:  Do we have enough there?  I really like Mitchell, but I am not sure about Sanders and Tremble is who he is.  Do we have a threat?  I think Bryce loves his checkdowns and underneath routes--he's not had a Stud TE.  I want one.  (platonic)  They are usually still available in round 3. Safety:  Not sure we have the center fielder we need at FS.  Moehrig and Ransom might be the same thing.  And if it were not for Doc in "Back to the Future," nobody in Charlotte would ever say "Great Scott!"  We need a smart, defensive QB at S, in my opinion. Of course, OL (center, T) could be in play, but I like Mays as the starter at C and Moton could play another season or two.  We need to start grooming guards, but we have depth there now. My draft day order, by position: Linebacker  Have we ever been good without the best ILB in the NFL?  I don't think so. (3-4 now, but we run some 4-3 looks) QB #2 with long-term starting potential  (I like so many second-tier QBs.  one or two of them will become NFL starters.  Mark my words) Tight End  (lotta folks might disagree here, but a big-time, viable option to go with Mitchell, Sanders, and Tremble) Safety  (we need a QB for the D--Moehrig and Ransom are similar) Tackle (Moton is getting old and we need to start grooming a potential replacement) WR  (this late IF we sign a free agent) Center (I like Mays, but his contract status and the depth at C needs to be addressed)
    • I would be fine with that, the kid can sling the rock.
    • Panthers open as 4.5 point favorites. You get three points for being at home so Vegas thinks we are only 1.5 points better than the one win saints..  Tells you what they think about the team and our ability to score
