Welp 1-16 is coming into view. Our one main strength just became a weak spot. We were not headed to the playoffs obviously, but with all these injuries it's looking like we won't even have 3-4 wins now. We had a weak roster at the start of the season, but now we're a bottom 3 team.

Well, we were probably always a bottom 3 team.

I had our ceiling at 6-10 and floor at 2-14. After the Raiders game, I thought we were trending closer to the ceiling but appears we may miss 2-14 because the only other winnable game on the roster is the Giants and they just won in Seattle this week.

I initially said 3-5 wins and adjusted up to 4-6 after the Raiders. Turns out, they are just also quite bad.

I still think we win 3. We will win one late to drop us two spots in the draft.

Passing on Zach Frazier is still a head scratcher for me. But this is what separates winning franchises from ones like ours. We had the opportunity to take Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith, two stalwart OL for Kansas City, in the 2020 draft but we passed up on them for guys that aren’t even on the team now.

I hope the new regime of Morgan and Tilis will make better personnel decisions going forward.

Both Humphrey and Josh Myers went right after TMJ… then we panicked and traded back up 3 spots for Brady C.

There are always the "woulda/coulda" kind of moves that get a lot of teams, but we fuging whiff on decisions 70% of the retards in this message board would get right.

It's insane.

That was the 2021 draft. I remember because that's Fitterer's first draft, where he orchestrated cute trade after cute trade and ended up with a heap of trash.

The UDFA Rookie Back-Up center is in concussion protocol, I believe.

Would mean Christensen takes the snaps, but he may have to fill in for Moton who is also injured. Possibly put Nijman at RT and continue with Christensen at C.

How tf did he get a concussion???!

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
