Yup.  If the season keeps going down the toilet, they may just shelve Brooks for the rest of the season.  No need to risk re-injuring himself in a lost season.  Sanders is gone after this season, so in a sense he's is replacing Sanders.  If the O-line can avoid further serious injury and BC can anchor the center, I think any above average back can get similar production as Hubbard behind that line next season.  Chuba can re-sign here for a decent price or test the market.  I just hope Morgan isn't like Hurney in trying to keep guys in the fold.  If Hurney liked a player, he would overpay them just to keep that guy here.

Need to know what Brooks is and isn’t though to manage the roster for next year.

I mean, Hubbard ran the ball 18 times.  Sanders had 3 carries.  It isn't like we didn't try to run the ball.

There is just only so much you can run when your defense lets the other team do whatever they want.  Running the ball more isn't going to make the other teams offense any less effective.  Not against this defense.

Yeah but they ran the ball 38 times for 198 yds. That is what dedication to running the ball looks like. It's also what success running the ball looks like.

20 to 25. Just run the damn ball. It's obviously a team that is built for the run to setup the pass but the HC still thinks it's the other way around.

Don't you love it when Chuba is ripping off runs at like 8 ypc then we get cute and throw 1 yard outs that get tackled for loss.

Yeah because they had the lead.  Teams who do not have the lead do not run 38 times in a game.  They just don't.

We ran the ball as much as any HC would without having the lead.

They ran 15 times in the first half(22-17 ATL lead).

They ran 8 times in the third quarter(28-20 ATL lead).

They ran the ball 15 times in the 4th quarter(3 were Kirk kneel downs).

    • Smitty is a legendary footballer player but this has really damaged his reputation as a person. You don’t cheat on a woman who has been with you through everything and gave you children and especially not with another man’s wife. He doesn’t even have any remorse about it, acting like nothing happened.
    • That's a big ass center! Is there any center in the NFL that weighs 320 lbs? Also, we drafted a center last season. Not sure this guy is a center even if he took reps at the senior bowl. Looks like a guard to me unless his build is better suited to a lesser weight. In a zone scheme centers need to be able to move quickly.
    • The majority of NFL draft picks don't play all too many snaps lined up directly across from another NFL player, and I don't think many people really realize this. Unless you play a game against one of the 2-4 schools that are putting half their lineup into the NFL each season, most teams who have multiple draft picks, MIGHT only have 2-4 draft picks in any given season. Some skill positions get around 30 players drafted each year, other positions are in the teens to low 20's.  With at least a handful of them coming from non power conference schools too.  So the odds for any WR or CB to get too many games lined up directly against another future draft pick is pretty low. The better odds are that they get lined up against a future NFL player, i.e. a junior or senior WR getting lined up against a freshman or sophomore DB who will get drafted in a couple of years. Then if you take it one step further and look for players who actually play in the NFL and make a difference.   You're basically looking at players drafted in the first 3 rounds of the draft, so a little less than 100 players a year, spread out across all the positions and conferences (which in today's massive conferences, teams have even lower odds of player the teams with more NFL players than ever before).
