You guys slurping Dan Morgan might want to slow your roll. After the Giants we've got Chiefs Bucs Eagles Cowboys Cardinals. Suffice to say there's going to be a few bumpy games that will put a bit of a dent in this Dan Morgan can do no wrong parade.

I don't yet support or dislike Morgan as GM and it doesn't have to be all in or all out here. Morgan has made some decent moves and some I question. Giving him credit for some decent moves doesn't necessarily mean sucking him off. I don't know what I think of him yet but I'm not going to trash his every move he makes just because I don't like the guy for some odd reason or because he worked under Fitt. He is here and probably for a bit whether anybody on this message board likes it or not.

You are missing the point by a country mile.

At this point it as nothing to do with wins.

I'm well aware this is a developmental season but we also did not enter this season with our GM telling us it was a full rebuild. He specifically said it was a "retooling". That is the issue why he is not getting a pass from some people. He like Fitterer before him lacks the understanding that we are not a player or even a few players away from truly competing.

And this franchise has the worst win percentage in all of professional sports the last few years. Let's not sit here and say this has nothing to do with wins. No one in this organization is paid to put out a terrible product.

As of right now we are barely ahead of the Saints for worst team in the league. Congratulations Dan I guess.

He owns the Panthers record for worst. In the nfl? He has a lot of competition for worst GM but I'm struggling to think of one at the moment.

Without the BY trade he’s just a run of the mill bad GM. Trading away what he did for a massive bust at QB? That will shoot you up to the top of the list

Matt Millen might be in the conversation. You can probably look at a bunch of old school losing teams and look up their GMs. We don't remember their names.

The kids are alright...

The vets though..on defense…yeah, we don’t have the best lol.

Overall, the Defense needs some heavy duty offseason cleaning — we need to find a potential stud pass rusher and some other pieces. Injuries hit us huge too.

Good drafting will cure a lot of things, it seems like a step in the right direction, but l’m not necessarily anointing Morgan yet.

How bad was Scott Fitterer? Worst GM in the history of the NFL or just in Panthers history?

The combination of Matt Rhule, Scott Fitterer and David Tepper might be the worst in the history of the league or at least in the convo

Recency bias (and fan bias) but he absolutely tanked the Panthers franchise in just 3 Drafts.

Hired in 2021, fired before the 2024 Draft.

Players that are still on the team (starters highlighted):

Horn, Christensen, Tremble, Hubbard, Ekwonu, Barno, Mays, Young, Johnson, Zavala.

That's horrific.

    • I'm probably one of those posters, but I make those posts because there are too many things going on that don't make sense. For instance, how does a RB that does something that hasn't been done in 14 years immediately get reverted back to 2nd string, and it takes a leadership council to make him the starter when he's averaging 3x the YPC? Your average fan shouldn't be screaming that for 2 weeks before the coach sees it. And that's one of many.  What you're seeing is frustration that we could be better, that we should be better, if our owner, FO, and coaches could do things that are so painfully obvious to even the most basic fan
    • Cowboys. Patriots. Couldn't ask for two bigger villains.
    • I think we're all struggling with what things are right now and what they have been. It's like getting ready to have bandages removed after a long period of injury. The healing, the new growth, they aren't going to be pretty, there's going to be some ongoing issues for a while at best and there's every chance that we're going to have to go back into the bandage situation all over again. And that sucks. But it's also a place where maybe, just maybe, the recovery is going to finally start happening. The bad days will be getting behind us.  It's not going to happen this year, but I believe from what I see that this year is showing that improvement. We focus on the QB because that's what all the pundits focus on, because it's the flashiest and most heralded position on the field. No one wants to put out a tweet about how a center is holding down their job and anchoring a line. They rarely celebrate that blocking tight end or special teams gunner. That fourth CB on the depth chart? Not a mention. And yet, those guys are the kind that we've been building here, we're building the lunch pail guys AND finding some future stars.  Is Bryce one of them? Might be a cornerstone of the team in the future as the second QB, might somehow just show out to end the season. Might flame out like many expect. But if that uncertainty is all we concentrate on, we're just going to miserably look at this team and maybe miss out on some solid green shoots that are finally beginning to poke through into the sunlight.
