Not sure why so many can't grasp that Morgan was likely the dissenting voice on many of the mistakes and that's why he got the job

Not really. He was against the Burns to Rams trade. There have been articles by Panthers writers saying he was in lock step with Fitterer on most decisions.

I think Tepper wanted a new face that he still knew well.

Specifically I'd guess he wanted Stroud

Oh my god ... is it Dan Morgan laser eyes time? Good trade! Second time we've used Jerry to our benefit, one when he didn't stop babbling about Jonathan Brooks in the press conference so we traded up to get him the next day, and here getting a 4th for a guy who simply stinks.

This isn't the flex you think it is. It just shows Jones sucks and doesn't have an eye for talent. And that should make you think twice about crowning Brooks. I mean if Jones wanted him...

Good trade, good win. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that jazz. My belief is we have are establishing a decent base to be competitive in a couple of years. Hear me, competitive, not contending. Next year's draft will be huge and the level of these picks are going to position us to take some good players.

I don't think people are understanding what really happened with the Johnson trade.  I highly doubt he would have seen another snap on this team after his comments, they weren't trying to get anything out of him, they were trying to get rid of him.  All things considered, Dan did good on that as well, got him out of the locker room ASAP and got something for him.

I actually think I DO understand lol.  I understand that when you're losing players will say things that are out of character. Diontae did not earn this super diva reputation people are trying to paint while here. The soft teams just go trading those talents away.  Diontae was easily one of the top names on the WR market, and we gave him to a team with championship aspirations for a 5th rounder. Not only that but we also gave up a pick as well.

For me it's the equivalent of when I'd trade in a game at GameStop and they'd offer me $2 to turn around and sell it for $30. I'd rather hold on to the game, and if I play it I play it, than get robbed bc I just wanted to move that piece. Part of the role Dan has is negotiation, negotiate something better (as shown in this trade.)

Mingo never looked good out there seems like a great athlete attempting to play the WR position Jalen Coker is half the athlete but a natural WR

I really feel like Coker’s athleticism is undersold. The dude had a 42” vertical, which is generally agreed to be a great metric for explosive athleticism. He seems to have plenty of speed on the field

Why did the Steelers trade him? They traded him and then turned around and are in the market for a WR, why?

You seem to have an answer already so you tell me. Also I should've added 'while he was here'. The comments that I heard from Diontae sounded right on par with a WR that's on a 1-7 team with minimal production from the QB position.

Us always wanting choir boys is part of why we have never had back to back winning seasons.

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
