For those who want us to tank: Who in this draft has franchise QB tendencies and skills that will translate to the next level?

I honestly don’t see a single player with franchise QB characteristics.

I’m still not sold on Bryce long term, but we have needs all over in order to set the next young QB up for success.

Tanking is silly.  It never works.

But given that its impossible to predict who will actually be a franchise qb, and who will not, if we are in a position and the team feels that a qb is worth a shot, I don't mind. Virtually everyone thought that Trevor Lawrence was not only a franchise qb, but a generational talent (he is not), while Patrick Mahomes was thought to be a guy who might turn into something, I have zero trust in any predictions about whether a qb will be a good NFL qb.

Just ruin your chance at getting better baby

That's a loser mentality. We moved up to pick number 1 just the season before last and what did that get us? A point guard. If you think having pick 7 instead of 3 changes our future you're trippin.

Most people here were saying 4 or 5 wins this season would be considered a success. Now, we're almost there and some of you want us to lose every game for a roll of the dice.

Amazing what some people have become these days.

So I missed the first half and only came in for the fourth - how was BY in the first half?

Didn't screw up, didn't do anything great.  I think Dave is trying to bring him and the offense, along very slowly.

First drive was mainly the Chuba show.

No. Stop being happy. Winning is bad. We're supposed to be miserable and making mistakes trying to play moneyball!!! /s

Fun win for the team. Chuba played his ass off today and the OL held up. Had some ugly drops take place but hopefully that can be worked out.

DJ Wonnum's impact on the field was a lot bigger than I expected. Frustrating to think about how this defense would've looked with DB, Wonnum, Shaq, and Dane Jackson all being healthy at the same time. Wallace has made losing Shaq sting less, but man it's sucked seeing the DL, EDGE, and CB groups churn the way they have.

It doesn’t? Washington traded away Sweat and Young in 2023 and landed pick 2 in 2024. They also let Howell get 25 turnovers on the way to 4 wins. They took Daniels with pick 2 and are looking like a playoff team.

It’s not hard to find examples of tanking working. When you take a Young over a Stroud, don’t trade Burns early and you don’t tank, it can hurt way worse than just tanking because if you make a QB drafting mistake, you’ve got no extra picks to recover.

I suppose it depends on your definition of tanking.  I don't consider a couple of trades tanking.  The CMC trade for us wasn't tanking, just getting draft picks for a guy who wasn't healthy much.  And they wanted to play Howell and see what they had.

Tanking to me is what Miami did a few years ago, when they basically got rid of a lot of players,  and it hasn't got them much other than the ability to challenge for a wildcard spot.

Lol. I’ve enjoyed watching both wins with my youngest. Hubbard’s been awesome.

That said, we’ve beaten 2-8, 3-7 (1 win against us) and 2-7 teams. You can imagine all you want what this team would be like without injuries but every team has injuries.

We aren’t a good team and I don’t begrudge any fans looking to the draft pick either. I enjoyed every win but I also know that even with some healthy guys, this is not a playoff team. This is a team that playing mistake free can beat other 2-3 win bottom 5-10 teams.

I hope we get a great pick that someone else desperately wants or lands us a legit D stud. I’m not a QB fan this year but maybe someone else is. I don’t see many wins, if any, left.

    • Nobody is giving up a 4th rounder for a backup QB And anyone who needs a starter badly enough to where Bryce would then be their starter, is such a bad team that they're not giving up a pick likely to be about pick 105ish overall, instead of just dealing with a bad QB situation for a season and then drafting one in a loaded QB draft next year. I'm looking through all the teams right now and can't think of a single one that would be willing to part with anything better than a 6th rounder. Barring injuries (and excluding the Panthers), there look to be 10 teams who don't know with 100% certainty who their starting QB will be in 2027... Dolphins, Jets, Browns, Steelers, Vikings, Colts, Saints, Falcons, Cardinals, and Rams. Of those 10...  The Rams know it will be Stafford or Simpson.  The Saints more than likely will be sticking with Shough unless he takes a huge step backwards.  So neither are giving up any draft picks for Bryce right now, just wouldn't make sense for either. Down to 8 Given their current QB situation of having multiple QBs they already need to evaluate between this year, the Browns (Shedeur/Watson), Vikings (Kyler/JJ), Colts (Jones/Richardson/Leonard), and Falcons (Penix/Tua), wouldn't be giving up a 4th (or maybe any pick) to bring in another QB to muddy the waters even more. Down to 4 Dolphins just signed Willis and wouldn't want to bring in another small Alabama QB who has struggled after just dumping Tua instead of just rolling with Ewers as the backup.   That then leaves the Steelers, Cardinals, and Jets left as it's clear none of them have any idea who their 2027 could be as of right now.  But the Steelers would for sure rather just see what one of the 2 QB's they drafted in the last 2 drafts could become than give up a mid round pick for Bryce.  Same goes for the Cardinals in taking Beck this past weekend. The Jets would be the most likely team to even consider taking him on, but I think it seems very apparent right now given them rolling with Geno and now talk of bringing in Wilson to be his backup, they're punting on QB this year to draft someone next year, so why give up even a mid round pick for Bryce?
    • Honestly I am not sure Pickett couldn’t step in for him. But I don’t see a clear easy upgrade and we are not KC with Alex Smith we are a team that hadn’t done poo for almost ten years and just made the playoffs. And looked good in the game. That stadium atmosphere on that day…. you know Tepper ate that poo up. Not one drink has been thrown in a while.  You had better make sure if you replaced him after that that you had a sure fire upgrade.
    • Makes sense. If Bryce is ass this year, we are probably drafting our new QB next draft and sitting him behind Bryce for a year
