I just don't think he loves football.

He got his money and a little fame and checked out. That is hard to predict when evaluating a prospect. Sometimes it's obvious but many times it's not until they get that 1st nfl check.

He also was quoted as saying that he figured the NFL was going to be easy. Now that it isn't, he is reevaluating. It is easy to say they don't love it or the money makes them different. But now that they are on podcasts and give more behind the scenes interviews, you see how some of these kids are wired. I think he is just lazy due to being a top tier athlete his whole life and now that it is a profession it has beat him down mentally like it does so many QB prospects. Especially a guy who had less than 20 starts after highschool. I will say this, I don't think he has it mentally to make the jump and rebound on his own. He will need coaches, mentors to get him there and be willing to listen.

If he doesn't have the desire and commitment to be the best don't waste your time on him.

Just to be clear, was that quote from Richardson or Williams?

(links still not embedding for me, maybe it's my browser)

I've seen more than one rumor that his teammates aren't exactly fond of him. This scene might lend to that idea.

The "Waddle" of Waddle & Silvy being former Bears receiver Tom Waddle...

For all the concerns I have with Bryce Young about his abilities as a passer at least he's not a bad teammate or a drama queen. I'll give him credit there.

But from the standpoint of a Panthers fan who watched Bears fans all across social media gleefully talk cold hard poo and rub our noses in it just earlier this year all I can say is.... BEAUTIFUL.

Actually said after playing that it is easier. That is even worse.

He's being misinterpreted the same way Bryce was when he said he took a week or two off to watch Netflix and decompress.

Here's the full clip:

He said that he feels like the NFL is easier because everybody is good and trying to stay employed versus being in college and having guys on the field with you that aren't that confident. They don't have to do it all by themselves like in college, they can depend on their teammates in the NFL.

The reason I brought this up in the first place was his mindset. Saying at any point the NFL is easier than college is nonsense and a person who is strong mentally would never say that. Now he is the guy his teammates cannot depend on because he isn't strong mentally(ex: pulling himself out of a game).

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
