After being in misery for years now, lets make believe that good things could happen to us.

Imagine a future where Bruce Young continued to develop, and became a possible franchise QB again for us. We Win a couple more games, and show progress and become more fun to watch. We end up with a top 10 pick, Morgan has a great draft after having selections in round 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 7, 7, 7. Cap is in solid position with Young under rookie contact for the next three years. We have pieces in place to compete in a weak division, and our team is young and talented, with a head coach who is getting better with experience. We have a team who is competing for a playoff spot in 2025.

Maybe it is a dream, maybe this will age like milk, maybe I’ve started drinking early and am giddy that I’ll be doing absolutely nothing tomorrow except relaxing, eating great food with people I love, and getting to watch good ole American football.

Happy Thanksgiving Suckas

According to the Panthers website, there is only 1 pick in round 7:

Their own first-rounder

Los Angeles Rams' second-rounder

Their own third-rounder

Their own fourth-rounder

Cowboys fourth-rounder

Their own fifth-rounder

New York Giants' fifth-rounder

Ravens' fifth-rounder

One seventh rounder (Conditional on 2025 results of the Cardinals, Panthers, and Chiefs. The Cowboys will get the lowest of the three picks. The Chiefs will get the higher of the Cardinals or Panthers. The Panthers will retain the one in the middle.)

I can’t find any room for optimism with Bryce. I’m not even in a “would love to be wrong” state of mind. I just want to move on. No matter how good he looks the rest of the season I can’t see him ever taking this team to the promised land. I can’t really even expect him to play better next season once the expectations are on again.

Last Sunday my son kept saying, "Uh oh, I see Bama Bryce out there!"

I mean, I'd still trade him to the highest bidder because my mind has been jaundiced by such terrible, uninspired play from the time he repeated almost identical picks to Jessie Bates during his professional introduction until last Sunday. And, no, I wasn't really moved by the Packers game and viewed it as an anomaly. Bama Bryce would have to bury any vestiges of Bum Bryce and show out for the remainder of the season to make me believe that he is anything more than a blip en route to mediocrity, if not all out misery, as long as he is the Panthers' starter. I'll believe it when I see it with consistency. And Like the Big Tuna said, "He better walk on water."

I would definitely expect Morgan to trade some of those 4th’s and 5th’s to get us another pick the in 2nd or 3rd.

I’m hoping for that exact same scenario, two seconds would be big for us. I’d hope for 3 impact players. A WR/DL/DE that can contribute like this current class would be key to our rebuild.

Why? Seriously, what are the options. Try again with another QB for the 5th time and hope again. We've been playing that game ever since Tepper got here. I'm ready to be done with it. I understand your dissappointment but can't help but feel your just cutting off your nose to spite your face here.

Just because we made a bad trade and selected the wrong QB does not mean we should double triple and quadruple down on a QB who is currently for this season 35th in passing yards 36th in touchdowns 39th in yards per attempt 40th in yards per game 39th in completion % and 42nd in passer rating.

In this league you need not only a really good QB but it pays dividends to have a good backup plan in place. Why would you or anyone else be against us having a real legitimate insurance policy this go around instead of a washed up Andy Dalton and an afterthought like Jack Plummer?

It sounds to me like some of you are only invested in catering to one player because you want to salvage the trade instead of doing what is best for the whole team long term. Bryce Young does not carry that level of sway. That's all there is to it.

I guess I’m just worried he won’t be better or consistent. I just don’t see him beating good teams in the playoffs.

These last 3 games have been solid but I simply can’t get his awful start out of my mind. It would be miraculous if he turned it around.

At the current level he’s playing I think it’s fine for him to stay with the team but I definitely want legit competition brought in for his entire tenure here.

I agree except for the fact he has shown improvements since returning. If he was still playing like he was previously or if he reverts back, than I'm with you. Until then though, I'll support him and hope he works out.

I fall into the would love to be wrong” category and while I disagree with your stance, I definitely understand and respect it.  A lot of people probably feel the same way you do because there has been much more negative than positive.

Yea and the negative tends to slap this team right back in the face after any dose of positivity. I expect a 42-0 loss at some point before the season is over

    • Nah you are just haven't watched all of the playoffs....   And im referring the playoffs were hes currently sitting at .895 % and over 3 gaa    But again gotta beat the best.   Those of you who are gonna act like chicken littles before a matchup is even decided lol
    • No, I don't root for drops to be what loses a game, especially from a player who has/had drop issues, as that's not showing improvement. And no, I don't resent it if they win, just as I don't "celebrate" if we lose either.  But I don't get upset if we lose because I know it's for the best for our future, just like I don't go running through the streets celebrating a meaningless December win that doesn't do anything other than hurt our draft stock in a lost season. In a year like last year and this next year, where we've put considerable assets into the offense at the expense of our defense to be fixed later, something both fans and the team themselves know, as you can only add so many players in any given offseason.  Then I'm looking for us to click offensively, have everyone looking better than the year before and show growth.   But then the side of our team we know is a weakness, to be the reason we lose in a high scoring game.  Give me Bryce going down and taking a 2 point lead with 2-3 minutes left in the game, but then our defense almost holding the other team from getting into scoring position and they end up needing a 55 yard FG to win the game and beat us. That can happen while our young defensive players show tons of promise, but still have one or two too many holes and/or just inexperience that it costs us games in the end, but it's still a successful season of growth and improvement. Or even better, just look great on both sides in a close game and end up getting totally screwed by the refs with a bad late call that hands them the game. And again, those are the kinds of things I'm wanting to see happen once it's already a lost season.   And I'm only saying I'd rather not make the playoffs when the alternate scenario is making but losing in the first round. Because those are the scenarios where we improve as a team, get better draft picks, and an easier schedule the next year.  You then use the cap space and higher draft picks to fill the remaining defensive holes with impact players and you're then cooking with gas in that next season and have real potential.
