Wait a minute....So another qb just went off on that incredible chiefs defense??! NO WAY...SHUT UP! 😂

A Backup at that.

340 yards 2 touchdowns 9.7 yards per attempt 116.4 passer rating.

Aidan O'Connell is a jag at best.

Chiefs defense is overrated AF.

I wonder if he was already calling the plays, or if he's gonna get one of his assistants to help with calling the offense so he can try to show a bit more overall focus than Eberflus in game lol.

Well I'm going to assume he cannot have worse in game situational awareness than Eberflus but you never know lol.

Facts. They are bottom half of the league against the pass when you breakdown the numbers. All that top defense crap was for them stopping the run. Too many qbs have put up good games against them now. It just doesnt mean your gonna win because  champs find a way in the end.

Some years back, country had gotten to ja point where it was just pop with a twang. That was when you saw the rise of "new traditionalists" like Randy Travis and Dwight Yoakam who wanted to take it back to its roots.

Maybe they need people like that again.

They got people like that but I mean, go back to the 1970s and you had the outlaw movement which was the same thing basically, a reaction against what at the time they called Countrypolitan - with strings and sweeteners and very narrow artistic type of value system.

The style of countrypolitan changes but the game remains.

I don't believe there is really any data to back that up.

Yeah… it might just feel that way because the game has become so pass friendly the last few years

However, I think it’s slowly starting to trend back in the other direction which I’m all for.

The NBA is a tough watch these days because all teams do is shoot 3’s. The NFL was becoming something similar with passing. Maybe I’m just getting old but I actually miss watching teams run the ball and defense was a thing

Yeah, all the mock drafts have that happening with us taking a fuging CB at 5 lol.

One super under-the-radar thing is happening this year, and no one is paying attention. The recent first-rounder is Caleb Farley. He's still young and finally healthy. He's played fairly... Well too.

I think he's from the area and likes home cooking. He has elite traits and has just been unhealthy. I mean, why not sign him at this point.?Be one less draft pick to use on DL.

Its not something that could be backed up by data one way or the other.  Its just an opinion, like most things stated here.

Regarding my comment that started this discussion, Imo its more difficult to find good offensive linemen than wide receivers, due to a number of factors.  Granted that anyone that reaches the NFL has elite skills, but  I think that most players with the size, strength and skill would rather play on the defensive line.  If an offensive linemen does his job well, no one hears his name.  But if a Dlinemen gets to the qb a couple of times a game, all the fans know it.

Have a good offensive line directly impacts the run and passing attacks.  Where as have a good group of receivers only indirectly impacts the run game.  Miami's run game has taken a huge hit this year, while ours have improved.  I think Hunt is a big part of the reason this is true.  Not the only part of course, but a big part.

I think Hunt and Lewis are a big part of the turnaround. You went from one of the worst IOL to easily a top 10 IOL(center is weaker, obviously).

I do think our offensive coaching has improved tremendously, as well.

    • and they don’t get paid and teams don’t keep playing them
    • Then if he needs time to grow up and he is going to sign an extension in needs to be a 3 year, 20m AAV. He doesn't deserve to get paid like a top 10 QB right now because he's not. Daniel Jones is getting 14m and is playing top notch football.  He may have had some better games, but his mechanics and footwork are still terrible when he feels any pressure, real or not. When he feels good, he steps into his throws like he should. When he doesn't, it's that body squared up or jumping arm toss or tip toe lob. His fumbling is a huge problem. He cant run QB sneaks. He cant really play from under center because his drop backs are terrible and he needs to be far back to get enough gapping to see the field. That's not top 10 QB contract worthy.  And let's not pretend that Bryce is some victim in all of this. Remember him packing on 20 lbs before the combine for the weigh in and walking around in a hoodie the entire time or practicing that S2 test that no one has mentioned before or since so he'd have better results, or riding that hype train like the wheels weren't ever going to fall off. Stroud got roasted and torn apart because of a "leaked" S2 result. He was being portrayed as an idiot while Bryce was being portrayed as a savant. All Stroud ever said was watch me play football. He proved his point.  Bryce did everything he could to make himself the number 1 overall pick and when that happens, guess where you're going? To a bad team, likely with a new coach and it's probably going to be full of dysfunction especially if the owner is Dave Tepper. But the real dysfunction came because Bryce wasn't Reich's choice for QB. He wanted Stroud because Stroud fit the type of offense he ran better than Bryce ever could. That's why he lost interest as soon as he was drafted. He was forced to play Bryce when it was obvious he wasn't ready to show off Tepper's shiny new draft pick. No HC is going to come to a team when he gets no choice over who he has as a QB to build around and he has to reinvent the wheel when the easiest thing to do was just buy the wheel that fit to begin with. Tepper lied to Reich all the way up until draft day, then he made that pick. Then Reich checked out, and i don't blame him one bit. And I'll be clear, I didn't want Reich. I wanted Steichen because of what he's doing in Indy or Ryans because I thought he would make one hell of a leader and HC.  Reich was a HC with no control over his own team. I put the majority of what's gone wrong involving Bryce on Tepper. The trade gave up too much in picks and DJ to build around him, we had a horrid GM who couldn't draft or build a roster, a QB forced to play before he's ready, an owner that thinks he knows more than football people.    There's a lot of moving pieces in all of this, but we cant pay Bryce 50m AAV at the end of this season while he figures it out, and the 5th year doesnt make sense either if we're a run heavy offense with Bryce as game manager. You dont need a 30m, 5th year option QB for that. If he's not there developmentally, he's not there.  Unfortunately, there isnt time to just calm down. He plays like a game manager this year and we have to move on. You dont give game managers huge contracts behind the highest paid oline in football, especially when you need to sign your LT. Any journeyman can give us Bryce level results for 15m less per year. Just the way it is. If there was more time, maybe. Unfortunately there isn't. Just the way it is.
    • We’ve had opportunities to take 2 of the top 5 Cs in the game and instead we took TMJ and Johnathan Brooks. Our drafts since 2017 have been 1 player per draft and then huge misses on lots of really good NFL players (who the huddle have talk about in the draft threads). It’s been mentioned here so many times to draft more OL once you get to the 2nd and beyond since C/G talent is top tier in day 2 and lots of surprise day 3 guys. Taking Brooks over Frazier just looks worse and worse as our OL helps Chuba and Rico look great and Frazier would be a large improvement over Mays.
