you can either try to fix Bryce Young  or draft a Qb that is better.

either or ?

Overdrafting a non elite QB prospect just because they're better than the awful QB you already have is exactly how bad teams continue to suck.

People are far too focused on figuring out the QB situation to realize just how bad this roster is and inserting the wrong QB prospect into said roster isn't going to fix those problems.

We're still in year 0 of a re-build at the moment, stop trying to force a square peg into a round hole.

This is not the draft to reach for a QB, you build up the roster for a season, take your lumps, and then take one in what is supposed to be a QB loaded draft next year.

Hunter is going to fall right into our lap lol

Sorry @tukafan21 if both Tmac and Hunter are on the board I'm going Hunter. I like him as a DB more than Tmac as a WR.

He's also more box office and he would make this franchise a lot of money. My only question is if Prime would make it difficult to draft him. If not you 100% draft Hunter.

The last part is my biggest fear. I’ve been touting Mason Graham over Tmac because I didn’t even think Hunter would be an option for us after the last few weeks.

So first of all, we didn't actually move up to 3rd in the draft, the Patriots just haven't played yet.

And second, I will stand by this until the end of time... Hunter will be a bust in this league because his ego will end up getting the best of him.  It has nothing to do with his talent, but Hunter and Shedeur are tied with the biggest red flags of any 1st rounder since Manziel.

He's going to be drafted by a team as a CB and told he'll get 5 or so offensive snaps a game.  The team will struggle on offense, he will piss and moan about not being used both ways, it's going to cause problems.

He doesn't have a head coach, he has a pseudo father figure slash big brother who lets him do whatever he wants whenever he wants.  If people can't see he's being set up for a rude awakening in the NFL where he isn't given preferred treatment, then I can't help you.

I've said it before and it's not a joke, he's not on my draft board, period.  And it has nothing to do with his football ability, at all.

I still go back to Deion thinking Hunter stealing shoes from him from his office was funny and Deion posting the video of it on social media himself.  What other player at any level of any sport can do that and their coach find it funny?  There are more things than just that one video, but it's a perfect microcosm of what I've been talking about with him.

Deion was great for Shedeur's and Hunter's college careers, but I think he did a big disservice to both of them for getting them ready for life in the NFL, and I've said this for 2 years now.

If it stays like this it is extremely likely he will be available

    • I think you mean relevant but they have been fine, the problem is the lack of in game adjustments.  He has also been just decent at recruiting.  Duke having tons of success hurts and just fine isn’t good enough at UNC.
    • I don't see it as drafting a premium player to sit and wait if Walker gets hurt. We need a legitimate swing T. Unless you have a Sewell or Slater type tackle that is pretty much a sure thing, these guys can need some time to develop year 1 just like a QB ideally should. They all haven't played the elite 5 star talent on the edge. If we think another franchise tackle has dropped to us at 19, you have to pull the trigger. The position is just too damn hard to find. If it's just a "we need a tackle and this guy has a T on the board", yeah, move on, take one in the later rounds. But if that guy is there, let him back up and learn a year, then slide him into LT on year 2 of his rookie deal.  I don't see us being able to offer Walker a multi year contract after a prove it year, pay Moton his final almost fully guaranteed year, Hunt, Lewis a center and do a 50-60m extension for Bryce. The 3 most important positions on the field are QB, blindside tackle (usually LT), and edge rusher. Those are the premium positions that cost the most and are hardest to come by. If a starting caliber talent is there at 19 you have to pull the trigger.  I understand the need for a DT and S. I've been on the C and FS train for years. If we weren't staring at a potential Bryce extension, it'd make the decision a lot easier I think. It's just with all these huge contracts I don't see how we can hedge our bets on being able or even wanting to re-sign Walker, especially if he has a bad year. Icky and BC's injuries really hurt our long term plans.  If no blue chip talent at those 3 key positions are available at 19, by all means pass and draft another position. But I think it's pretty safe to say we don't have a guaranteed lock at any of them right now beyond Phillips, and they have to be somewhat of a priority.
    • Not completely accurate. I'm sure Roy is lobbying for him and Larry Brown has spoke put in support too. But Hansbrough has made comments pretty critical and hinting at a need for change. Joel Berry has gone a step further and said the standard has not been met. Scott Williams who was a teammate of Hubert's at Carolina has gone all the way and said it's time for a change at head coach.
