Canales needs to divorce Evero at the end of the year

We all know this was an arranged marriage.
But it needs to end at the end of the year.  And need  full defensive overhaul.

Offense has Not carried their end either today.  But this defense just isn’t it.
And before we blame them giving up or injuries.

Kicking off the 1st drive today.  We gave up runs of 16, 6, and 10 off the rip.  The drive for Dallas stalled after a penalty and a nice CB blizt drawn up that Cooper Rush didn’t see.

A few of the plays that’s opening drive, I noticed we had only 2 DL sets.  I remember busting Phil Snow’s balls over some Gimik stuff.  I feel Evero is getting a free pass just because Browns injury.  When in reality, even with Brown in, it wouldn’t make a difference.

we saw guys like Luuvu leave to play elsewhere for cheaper than we offered after he was reported to not want to play in this system.   We saw him mismanage Chinn who is now thriving in Washington I believe.

We have a top CB who we won’t even let him cover one of the best WRs in the league.
This system is an overall mess.

Yeah frankly I've never been fully on board with Evero's scheme. Main concern is how he's carried over a poor run defense philosophy from Denver to Carolina. A bit too easy letting opponents dice us up too.

Plus never a good look when a player points out a discrepancy between how they'd like to play vs how they're forced to.

I'd rather move on and see if we can do better.

Lamb was shut down for the first quarter until Dallas started lining him up across from smith-wade, Richardson, woods and other bums. There were no adjustments made and he kept killing us over and over. Great job, Evero.

He had 25 yard catch in the 1st drive of the game that got called back because Dallas penalty

then they didn’t get the ball back until 2 min left in the 1st quarter

We stopped then the first few drives and then they moved Lamb around while Horn covered a JAG.

They were moving the ball like a hot knife through butter the first drive.  Before a penalty pushed them back followed by a CB blitz the Cooper Rush didn’t see.

then they did go 3 and out the drive after that.  But then They did whatever they want.

    • I'd hold on to Walker - we have no OT depth at all. Freeling is a block of clay - all the tools are there and he appears to have a great attitude. He needs serious work on his technique to realise his potential though.
    • From my watch last night: They weren't trading out of 19 unless it was a daft offer once Freeling got there. They were clearly antsy to get Hunter - and Minnesota actually called to offer the trade down. They weren't trading out of the third round pick once Brazzell fell to it (and Canales would have been happy with him in the second round). They traded back a lot on Day 3 - even if Morgan 'Babe Ruth'd' it with Lee, Hecht and Wheatley; they clearly weren't the only guys they would have taken at those picks. I'm curious to know which player caused the reaction at the start of day 2 (Dan Morgan): "of course they'd pick him"
    • Watching this confirms that this staff and front office is super high on Monroe Freeling. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gotta a real chance to win the starting LT job in camp. If he does, we can look to flip Rasheed Walker to a contender desperate for tackle help.   As for Ickey I still really like him and wanna extend him but based on how the staff was talking about Freeling it might be time for ickey to start taking some practice sets at guard if he wants to stay here as we are gonna have to have figure out a solution for the contracts of Lewis and Hunt.  My preferred scenario for the Oline in 2027 is Freeling-Ickey-Hech-Lewis-Moton.
