I completely agree. If we don’t resign Tremble I’m fine taking one in round 3 or 4 to lock the position down for 2-3 years but I’d be irritated if either of our first 2 rounders were spent on TE. To me would feel like a luxury pick like last year in the 2nd.

While I would take him, Pitts at #4 overall has underperformed.  Then Atlanta takes a good RB in the first and then a QB (whose value was inflated) just after signing Cousins--I can't imagine a worst draft performance over the past 5 years even though their picks did not bust--they were just stupid from the beginning.  Atlanta was supposed to win the South and they are struggling.

We will go defense with the first two picks.  I have been picking WR in my mocks, but after looking into it more, there might be good players on the board, but they are not the best value.  A top 10 pick should be a difference maker.  I am not an Evero fan--I think he gets outcoached a lot (like vs. Dallas), so the biggest addition we could make is the DC--I actually like the depth at edge, DT, S, RB, and LB in this draft.  Not so much CB, WR, QB, or OL.

I just think it will be hard for us to get a better DC. Will a DC really want to join Dave Canales? Do they trust Canales will be here past next season? Will teppers alleged new hands off approach last? I do think Tepper allows us to shell out the money to hire someone, but im just not sure about our ability to get a Saleh for example.

Bijan hasn't had the pop he was advertised to have either.  Not bad, but he was supposed to be a game changer.  Atlanta doesn't have that bad of an offensive line.

I haven’t seen him play, but if he doesn’t get separation and he’s slow, that doesn’t sound like a top 5 WR

On his highlights he looks great at getting seperation against lesser programs then looks like a possession reciever against decent programs.  To me he looks slow and has a long stride.  We have plenty of that on the team we need a player who can get open quick and make people miss

I agree.  I really don't like taking the same prospect archetype over and over.

    • Night and day difference in the front office investements.  Since Morgan has been in the FO (5 years)....4 out of 5 first round picks have been offensive players.  The one defensive pick was a corner. Expand it out to the first 2 rounds? 7 out of the 9 picks have been offensive.  That IMO is why our D sucks so bad.   You build defenses up front.   Carolina hasn't been investing there.  Ron's first 5 years? 3 of the 5 first round picks were defensive players.  Expand it all to include second rounders  7 of the 10 picks were defensive.  All front 7 players.
    • I think he gets this year to show what he can do.  Last year, we had a lot of injuries. This year, we should have some players, even if we lose one or two.  It's the first preseason game.  Some of the starters weren't even in it.  There is no scheming or game planning.  Let's see how guys do when it counts. I think we have a GM that knows a thing or two about defense.  Let it play out.
    • I was ok with the mentor aspect of keeping Dalton, but wow has he fallen off the deep end. The slow behind the WR interception was awful. I keep hearing our WRs created no separation, but on that particular play dude was wide open and Dalton couldn't get it to him with a clean pocket. Next year, we need to address the backup QB spot haaaaaard!
