New draft crush....

That dude is a damn beast!

Not sure if he's realistic given our needs.

It just depends on the evaluations. I think he is a 1st round caliber guy but he isn't in most 1st round mocks. We will see what happens. If he makes it to us in the 2nd, I would sprint to the stage with that pick.

Tyler Warren is my new found draft crush. We don’t reach for him at 6 in the draft, but could there be a scenario where we trade back and acquire draft capital and land within the range he’s at…

I thought that was who this was going to be about.

He impressed me against SMU and then really stood out again against Boise. Can really block it seems and his size and hands is a real weapon receiving.

Definitely not our biggest need, but kinda reminds me of the Bowers thing last year, if you get a chance to get a weapon like that. Plus if we traded back and could add a 2nd round pick.

I don't really see why people are still high on Carter, TBH.

I mean he is the #1 prospect on the ESPN board.  Kiper and Fields both have him at #2.  Not hard to see why he is getting attention.  I just want them to vet his desire level once he gets paid but other than that he is an incredible athlete.

Kiper had Clausen ranked as the fourth best prospect in the entire 2010 NFL Draft even though most other draft pundits had the QB projected to go in the second round (Clausen was subsequently selected 48th overall by the Carolina Panthers). At the time, people accused Kiper of being biased since he and Clausen shared the same agent, Gary Wichard.

But Kiper only dug in his heels further, making this infamous proclamation on ESPN:

“If Jimmy Clausen is not a successful quarterback in the NFL, I’m done. That’s it. I’m out.”

Walker as a second round pick would be great. But only if we stay as 3-4.

He would unlock brown as the UT and let teams have to decide to double in the middle of we go 4-3. Brown give us options to take a guy like walker.

Then again I prefer grant to all. Think that size, power, quick twitch is top notch. He's not a flashy tactician and that's the real rub.

Watching the PSU vs Boise game, I came away wanting us to select Kaytron Allen at RB on day 3 of the draft. With Brooks’s injuries piling up, Allen looked like a solid add for our backfield, and he’s projected as a late round pick/UDFA where I looked.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
