I'm surprised Ewers is entering the draft instead of getting a huge NIL payday to transfer somewhere else next year.

I'd have to imagine he'd pull in a few million as a transfer, which basically would be how much he'd get on a full mid round pick rookie contract, while also maybe having a good season and working his way into a higher draft pick.

NIL seems the same bet but then again he might be QB3 this year. Next year's QB draft should be considerably better. Honestly, this year looks like Cam Ward or bust IMO.

I couldn't see him being drafted in even the 2nd round this year, and 3rd rounders get a 4 year contract for $5.5-6 million.

With how much NIL the top QB's can get as transfers, I'd have to think someone like him could get at least 2, if not 3 million for just next season.  As long as he doesn't poo the bed, he's still likely a 3/4 round pick anyways, with the potential to work his way into the 1st or 2nd which would then get him a bigger contract as well.

Now if he's being told he won't fall past the 2nd, then sure, maybe it makes more sense, but I'd be surprised if that's what he's hearing and will end up happening.

I could definitely see some QB needy team taking him in the second.

Maybe, but the QB needy teams know they aren't going to be great next year anyways.  I'd rather go with a Jameis or sign Cousins once he's cut and just draft someone in a better QB draft next year, than possibly waste a 2nd round pick on a guy who may never be a starting QB in this league.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
