Evero will return as DC

This is coach/FO speak imo. Remember, Evero is a minority I believe we get draft compensation if someone else hires him. So yeah, no reason to fire him before we see how other things shake out.

I think that has to be for a promotion.

You rarely see coordinators make a sideways move (well, employed ones anyway).

I understand why people are frustrated, but I think this is an okay decision.  Put all your focus on improving the talent on this defense, give Evero another chance to do his thing.

I know that he can still coordinate a top tier defense but man.

Just letting him get "his guys" doesn't work.

Fuller and Woods have been two of the worst on the defense.    Jewell is solid but a liability in the pass game.

Hell yea!!!

Can't wait to see how they attack the safety room. EE needs smart, talented safeties to run his scheme. If the team can give the defense the kind of love that the offense got, ooh wee mayne

Per Canales in presser.  Very definitive.

I'm shocked.   Position coach changes are on the table.

I am not that shocked, he really was playing with hands tied due to personnel issues, I am OK with having some continuity and see what he can do with an upgraded and healthy roster

He hand picked Woods and Fuller.  Both suck.

But yes, safety room needs major attention.      I'm honestly not sure where we are the worst at S, DE, or LB.  All 3 are huge holes.

LOL he's a really good DC. I've no idea why people want him fired.

Because the results have been bad. But I'm with you here, to be honest I think he's done pretty well with the personnel he's been givin. When he has studs, and a healthy roster he usually puts together a good defense. And also, I think sticking with some continuity is huge for us. We have had enough changes, let it ride and work through the growth before canning people

Yes, I can get behind that.   Everybody within the organization needs to allow some patience and allow players/coaches to develop.

I would've preferred to replace him for Salah but I will support Dave in his decision.

I dont doubt he can coach when he has his players for his scheme but honestly I don't like his scheme. I want an aggressive attacking style with press man and blitzing up the run gaps. You can run it with a 3-4 or a 4-3  like LeBeau for Pittsburgh or Jim Johnson style for the Eagles. I hate the bend until you break rush 4 crap Evero used all year. I guess I will cling to the notion that so many injuries made him keep things simple and fail to change or adapt rather than he gave up.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
