Dan Campbell gets emotional after Washington loss.

Recommended Posts

Amazing job of coaching he's done this season considering the massive number of injuries that team has suffered.

Even with five turnovers, they put a bunch of points. Had their defense not been so decimated (including losing a starting DB with a broken arm early in the game), they might have held on to win it.

The injury bug is a mean one, and it got them in the end. Not to downgrade Washington's performance, because they were outstanding, but just to say, there's no shame in Detroit.

I was really hoping this was their year.

It should have been.

It could have been if they didn’t get fancy. Gibbs was running  it all over Washington and they went pass happy. That dumb wr pass play that was picked was just terrible.  I know some lions fans and while they like the coach, they are annoyed with him all the same.

I would test Hendon Hooker out first. He may be just what they are looking for and need. I feel like he could turn into something and I am surprised if no other team has not attempted to get him in a trade for a later round draft pick to see if he can turn into a solid starter. He has had time on the bench to watch and he is ready to at least see if he can hack it as more than a backup

If he was what they were looking for he would be playing. You don’t think they see him in practice and meetings daily?

Imo it says a lot about hooker that they immediately made bridgewater the backup a few weeks after he was coaching HS football and signed with them

There's some speculation that Ben Johnson might want to trade for Hendon Hookernif he picks the Raiders.

All speculation of course, but not out of the question.

Eh,Teddy is a longtime NFL player and was on the team in 2023, basically the prototype backup. I bet there was regular communication and Teddy didn't come in cold. Wouldn't think much of it considering the move was made for the playoffs when the stakes were highest.

Sure, why not, hes on the roster at least see what he has, Goff is decent but hes not elite, see if Hooker is.

    • Im not firm on many things football, but this statement or belief or strategy I am 100% for. Full Offseason the goal is to make the playoffs. Week 1, 1000% I want to win. Weeks 2-10,  1000% I want to win. Until the math stats 0.000000000% chance at NO playoffs, I want to win. *Once* there's no chance at the playoffs, I want to 100% lose every game until the end. You are still loser at 2-15 or 5-12, I want to never lose like this again. I want the best value for losing and suffering. Again the only goal is playoffs. Once in the playoffs anything can happen, I want to win the whole dam show. If you happen to lose in the first round, that's perfectly fine and lets work hard this upcoming off-season to get another chance to make them.  This is the ONLY way to play in the NFL. Anyone not understanding this method of strategy, please call your doctor for a visit...
    • Purdy's good but at the end of the day you're paying first class money for a business class seat.  It's a big problem with the salary cap.  QBs take most of it whether they are Pat Mahomes or not.
    • Purdy saved the 49ers from that three 1st picks for Trey Lance. People forget that. People also forget he should have MVP votes for the 23 season. He's been any where from the 8th(his best/23) to 14th ranked QB, he's legit and guys around top 10 get paid as QBs.....guys in 28th get paid too, he's 4x the QB Trevor Lawrence is and better than BY by miles as well...even without CMC, Samuel(whos a RB playing WE), and half the OL.    *BUT*    You non-believers missed this ultra important mistake that honestly made me reconsider all the praise I gave him. https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/news/49ers-qb-brock-purdy-throws-blind-40-percent   That's is damming to my case and reset my thinking of his. That's nuclear scary now and I need some time.  too honest for me to overlook.
