Who is your way too early mid-round draft crush?

Graham is not actually a consensus top 10 guy.

Umm, yes he is. I don’t think I’ve seen a mock draft by an analyst where Graham makes it to 8. I’m sure there’s a surprise one but he’s pretty much gone by Jacksonville in 99% of the drafts. Where he goes depends on the QBs but he is absolutely a consensus top 10 pick.

DT/NT Vernon Broughton from Texas. Will probably be a 4th or 5th round pick. Guy really started to come on late in the season. His stats don’t show his impact. Panthers need bodies up front and with guys like Tuttle and A’Shawn Robinson likely cap casualties, they’ll need to stock up in the draft.

I'm biased because I went to William & Mary, but I think Charles Grant will be a steal in the mid rounds (3rd - 4th). Dude is insanely athletic for an offensive lineman and I think he would be a great swing offensive lineman that could be plugged in to any OL spot. If he was taller / heavier and played against FBS competition, I think he goes in the top 50

I think a team with a zone heavy scheme like the eagles will probably take him, but hoping we do.

My mom, uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents went to William & Mary and I grew up going to every home game. I pick Grant in every mock draft at #113. He’s been fun to watch but the William & Mary program has a long line of success in the NFL. I know there’s bias but he would help us.

I think this is the rare, "answered your own question."

We need to kill in the important rounds(1-3) but we have a bunch in the "depth" rounds(4-6).

We need everything.

How so? I basically said this year I’ve only been paying attention to top 10 prospects because of our pick at 8. I’ve kind of lost my interest in the rest of the draft because of how bad our actual picks have been, but Graham is 100% in the range of players I’m still interested in because he’s a consensus top 10 guy. Heck, he’s been one of the few guys (like  Travis Hunter who’ve been top 10 since pre-2024 college season.

I just google 2025 mock draft, went to ESPN, PFF, CBS, Tankathon and NFL.com and not one site or mock had him go later than 8 and that was only one of them. Where have you seen that he’s actually not a top 10 guy?

Homer pick and probably later than mid-round, but Bryson Nesbit. Very athletic / physical TE that had a few injuries that limited his stats. Would love to have another TE like him on the roster.

Most have him in the 3rd-4th round range. So yeah, he seems to fit well in this thread.

I think he's ready to go as a receiver at TE in the NFL but has a long ways to go as a blocker. He basically plays like a jumbo slot WR.

Seems a little redundant with JT Sanders here. It would be ideal to have a TE that is a skilled blocker to pair with him IMO.

Tommy Tremble. We badly overdrafted an athletic blocking TE hoping he'd develop as a receiver but he's basically still an athletic blocking TE.

Bradyn Swinson and APR from V Tech.  Both guys are edge rushers and Swinson probably goes day 2,  APR is a day 3 guy.  Swinson is very bendy and has some power in his hands,  in most classes he does not get out of the 2nd round.

APR has alot of power but half the time looks like he dont know what is going on.  When he does he is really good.

    • Would Morgan or Beason have been HOFers' if injuries hadn't derailed their careers?  I was not a close watcher of the game when Morgan was in his prime but I thought Beason had a few seasons at close to Lukes' level of play.
    • Franchise QBs feast when things are rolling and the tide that raises boats when things are going sideways.  Bryce isn't that. He's a complimentary player, that's it.  When the defense and STs are on point, he plays loose and it shows.  When we are in a dog fight and things haven't gone our way, he struggles.  It's that simple. He's not a horrible QB, but he's not top tier either.  So the question begs, is this worthy of a second contract?  The answer should be no.  It definitely is my answer. Bryce will never be a QB that can produce wins largely on his arm.  That's a FRANCHISE QB, any other QB is simply a placeholder at the starter's position until that guy can be found.   At some point the excuses of lack of weapons will be a straw man.  Heck, it's nearly there now.  I mean if he doesn't look even better than last year will we blame it on the TE position?  'Well if Bryce only had a player like Kelce, Kittle or Gronk on this team...'  Are we really going to do that?
    • When I arrived at college, I was 18, not too much younger than some of these draft picks.  It was not a huge school, but there were guys on the team who were 21, 22, 23....playing ahead of me.  I was seventh on the depth chart.  Those guys have been through a few seasons, were stronger, more knowledgeable.  I was a better raw player than some of them, but those other factors matter.  As I grew stronger, more familiar with the playbook, and learned what it was like to play in college, I gradually improved and with that, I rose up the depth chart.  It took most of my freshman year for the light to come on.  Had the coach thrown me into the starting lineup day 1, I would have probably failed.    And that was college.  So I agree with you based on my experience on a much lower level.  Frankly, I think that is why so many kids drafted to fill huge gaps bust.  The teams are desperate.  Anyone who looks to fill vacancies in the starting lineup through the draft is desperate.  You draft depth to develop.  For this reason, I say, "Let Walker start for a while."  Maybe Brazzell can be our WR 4.  Throw Hunter into a rotation and ask him to do one or two things.  Freeling needs some strength and he needs to work on run blocking.
