Who is your way too early mid-round draft crush?

I'm biased because I went to William & Mary, but I think Charles Grant will be a steal in the mid rounds (3rd - 4th). Dude is insanely athletic for an offensive lineman and I think he would be a great swing offensive lineman that could be plugged in to any OL spot. If he was taller / heavier and played against FBS competition, I think he goes in the top 50

I think a team with a zone heavy scheme like the eagles will probably take him, but hoping we do.

No idea where they'll go, but Charles Grant and Gunnar Helm both tick boxes for me.

Helm paired with Sanders would make me feel much happier about our tight end situation.

Grant coming in and given time to develop (and replace BC if he doesn't return) would offer the depth needed on O-line.

Malachi Moore seems a good prospect at safety, but I don't know a huge amount about him.

At WR, I like both Ricky White III and Nick Nash. Ricky reminds me a little of Diontae. Has some shiftiness and suddenness. Nick Nash is a former QB turned WR. Very good at contested catches. reminds me a little of Tee Higgins.

At DT, I like Patrick Jenkins. Maybe a late late or UDFA guy that plays 3-4 End.

I’m praying we use those picks on the less valuable defensive roles that fit a fast, two-high, odd-front scheme. We still haven’t really committed to building what Evero wants, and we need to fill in the gaps.

Coverage linebackers and safeties who can tackle:

Jay Higgins - LB - Iowa

Jay Bassa - LB - Oregon

Malachi Moore - S - Bama

Kevin Winston Jr. - S - Penn State

True nose tackles:

Jamaree Caldwell - NT - Oregon

Jordan Phillips - NT - Maryland

Jamaree Caldwell

O2 as more of a Luvu comp and Caldwell as the nose tackle we have yet to sign for the past 7ish years

Caldwell is one of mine--I love the depth at IDL positions this year.  In my mocks, I tend to draft 3 because I can't believe someone we could use is sitting there in round 5, for example.

I also like Jordan Phillips from Maryland.

I liked TCU WR Jack Bech before the Sr Bowl--love him now.

Skattelbo, RB Ariz St.  Dawg eating Dawg

Here is my 7th round / UDFA sleeper:  Jackson Hawes, TE Ga Tech.  Watched him during Sr Bowl practice and he caught my eye a time or two.  Can pass block, lead block, pull, and catch the ball.  With no Tremble or the future Hall of Famer Ian Thomas on the roster, we need a player who is versatile and willing to block.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
