I think I will be very disappointed if we don’t draft Walker as this point.  He is exactly what we need IMO.

I believe there's two plans for the panthers.

Plan A- land a BY type of haul for a trade back.

OR

Plan B- Draft a georgia dog at 8.

Disaster Plan no trade back and no georgia dog.

Draft either Tmac or Tyler Warren

Brother, there is no BY haul for a #8 pick. That is pure delusional thought.

Yeah when the Chicago Bears are a more well run organization there isn't anything left to say. And this after the recent things I've read about the Bears from former players only adds salt to the wound.

Still. I hope those fugers flounder. Yeah I'm petty 🤷‍♂️

"type" of haul.

I think there's a 1st, 2-3rd this year and future 1st 2-3rd. That's the BY package minus DJ Moore.

If Steelers believe in either dart or Sanders, it would be worth it for them. They always draft in the 20s and sorta stuck in 10 win playoff 1st round playoff exit zone... No QB and they just might as well go all-in after the DK trade.

FYI George Pickens is heavily rumored to be traded.... it worked out Soo well for the Panthers the last WR trade...

interesting overview of what he is hearing from the top 10 picks

Seems like just about everyone is locking in on Walker to us. I don't hate it at all but I do worry about the scenario where he goes earlier. I just hope we have a reasonable backup plan.

The only team that may take Walker before us is the Jags.  I REALLY hope so because that means Graham likely falls to us.  Taking Walker over Graham makes no sense to me.  The Raiders and Jets are going offense.

I would be SHOCKED if we got that type of offer for #8.

Keep in mind, per the (admittedly imperfect) draft pick value chart, #1 is worth over double #8 (3000 vs. 1400). It is very much an apples vs. oranges comparison.

won't be that much.  Huge difference between trading to 1 than 8.

21 to 8 is about 600 points.

9 to 1 is about 1650.

Some similar trades that have taken place:

  • 2019 - PIT trades #20, #52, and a 2020 third-round pick to DEN for #10 to select Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
  • 2021 - CHI trades #20, 2022 first-rounder, 2021 fifth-rounder, and a 2022 fourth-rounder to NYG for #11 to select Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
  • 2022 - NO trades #18, #101, #237, 2023 first-round pick, and 2024 second-round pick to PHI for #16, #19, and #194. They then traded #16, #98, and #120 to WAS to move up to #11 and select Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State (WAS took Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State at #16)

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
