We have no idea what these guys will do if anything.  But agree they do have a plan which is nice.  Wharton was a big overspend IMO.

If you look at their previous performances, they will make a notable difference.

Compared to the guys that had that job, I am impressed. Sticking to a gameplan and building up a good Dline. Not over spending when possible and mostly 3-4 year contracts. We will see what he does in the draft.  Good job so far

Spending money in FA is not the hard part of the job.  Managing the cap and more importantly the draft is where he should be judged and based off one year its pretty fuging ugly

I still think our entire scouting department is one of our bigger issues. Until we consistently nail a couple of drafts, the GM is getting bad advice from somewhere. Whether it's Hurney, Gettleman, Fitterer, or Morgan...I'm tired of hoping to come out of drafts with 2 guys.

At this point I would be happy with 2 guys

Still, I like Morgan so far. No marquee players (this year), but solid guys looking to play a larger role. And building from the trenches out!!!

Well based on last year the FA period made a lot of sense and it paid off in a big way. The draft had a lot of legitimate concerns that were brought to light as the season went along and ended up being pretty freaking bad actually.

So thinking he at least hits on a few of these FA guys again and with the defense being so bad they will help by default, it will still really come down to drafting impact guys. This draft has a good chance to define the team going forward and saving him his job or else we'll be stuck in the mediocre tier.

Most teams fail at the draft, it’s largely a crapshoot. For every team that drafts as well as the Rams last year, there are 29 others struggling to find even one rosterable players. A successful draft rate over five years is around 30%, meaning that hitting on just two out of seven picks would make you one of the most best GMs in the league.

I think fans set their expectations too high for results that are pretty unlikely.

The league average is 2.5 starters per draft that start for at least 3 years.

We’ve been at maybe 1-1.5 the past 7 years.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
