Yea...not sure about this, would have liked to see Clausen play with a center that could actually get him the ball one game during preseason...not sure this would be a good idea...as for some that mentioned the wildcat above; Clausen is a mobile QB but not that mobile.

Matt needs all the confidence, and help, he can get right now...splitting reps would be counter active

Didn't the Cardinals do the split qb thing with Leinart and Warner a few years ago? I recall their HC putting Warner in for some of the plays, then Leinart in for some of the other plays and just rotating. Seemed really fruity to me then. Seems really fruity to me now.

Didn't see this posted anywhere, but Fox Sports writer John Czarnecki has suggested 10 moves in the NFL that need to happen ASAP. #7 on the list:

While i enjoyed readi g the article,X-Clown,my feeling is that rotating QB's would be counter productive.

Not only would the the QB rotation be hurtful to the offense in general, that needs a steady rhythm but also to both QB's,since neither would be the leader of the team,in my opinion.

Actually, that was pretty close to same situation as the Raiders for Stabler's first couple of years (in the general vicinity of 1970). Stabler would do the game, Blanda the 2 min drill. The inexperienced QB was out there for most of the game getting playing time, but when the game was on the line, they brought in the closer.

That kind of rotation actually worked pretty well then and now, but we're missing the experienced QB for this kind of rotation to work. In the Landry/Mangini examples, QBs were "rotated" by the HC's whim. Not as effective.
