Everyone talking about his 4.5 sacks in his career also should consider Micah Parsons had 6 in his college career.   The NFL and college are different games with different coaching.  He's definitely still a huge risk though.

Parsons spent much of his college career playing as an off the ball LB. The concern with Parsons wasn't lack of production. The concern was whether he was an edge rusher or off the ball LB. 

Parsons also had 192 tackles and 19 TFLs in two seasons. Stewart had 65 and 12 in three years. Wrap your head around that. We're talking about a guy who averaged 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks per season as a potential top 10 pick. I don't think I've ever seen a guy who did so little in college being talked about being drafted this highly. His measurables scream top 3 pick. His "production" screams UDFA who is just hoping to get a camp invite somewhere and probably needs to be working on his non-football resume.

Fortunately he’s dropping across pretty much all mocks and rankings that I’ve seen, and I haven’t seen any smoke lately connecting us to him. Feels like Mykel Williams is the one we have to worry about.

The thing with these types is that they need to hone their craft and advance their skillset aside from the coaches’ time. Coaching doesn’t have the extra capacity to handhold them in development and figuring out how to be an NFL level player. They need to want to develop. Especially pass rushers with the layered game that’s played in the trenches — all the small things that turn into mind battles vs OL during the course of a game (This is why I’m such an Ez fan) If there is a question mark there, I’d stay away from a DL.

Hope we’re trying to gauge that with any of these types of prospects. Do they have the mentality to get better on their own.
