Ex-Panthers great Steve Smith sued under 'homewrecker law' for alleged affair.

I may have missed something but did they actually prove that Smitty had an affair with her or not?

I mean, like him or not, that actually matters.

Just saying.

I don't think Smitty wants to get into the court proceedings of proving it. It would be well worth $100k to him simply to avoid that and getting an NDA out of this man and his thot of a wife.

The big bill he's facing is the one his likely soon to be ex-wife is gonna extract from him and honestly, good. They've been together since before his NFL days. She's been with him every step of the way as he's accumulated wealth. I don't know poo about divorce law but getting an NDA out of these folks before that all goes down couldn't hurt.

Yea the guy would have to prove that his marriage was rock solid before the affair.  Steve could win if they take it to court, but he would be wise to just settle

Lawyers love these kinds of laws. All profit.

Yeah, I get them getting involved. The husband not so much. Imagine airing ALL your dirty laundry for what will probably be a $20k payday after fees.

Maybe it's just me, but I ain't putting my personal life out there for used Hyundai money.

That's the thing. The plan is to get the money before having to go through with all that. It's a bluffing game. Smitty is going to try to force the man to go through with it to avoid or reduce a payout and the man is going to try to convince Smitty he's willing to do it and he's definitely willing. Hell, he's already done it.

I cannot even imagine something more humiliating than sharing texts between your wife and another man with her praising him for knocking the bottom out of it and rearranging her IUD. I mean, oh my God... LOLOLOLOL

It is an antiquated law that basically treats the woman as the husband's property.  We will never hear about this again because Smitty will likely write the check--and the lawyers know it.

Max payout is $100K, which Smitty will never miss. I'd have already paid it to shut this guy up. Every time a news story comes out you know Mrs. Smitty gives him poo. If she leaves his ass it'll cost him a lot more than $100K.

No “if” - you can all but guarantee she’s hitting the door and I don’t blame her. He ruined their family over some trash in Baltimore.

You can see her socials and his kids socials - the family is together, smiling - no Smitty or wedding ring in sight.

Ice Up Son.

And still, is there any proof that he even had the affair?

There's money, but there's also the damage to a multiple decades marriage with kids that could be caused simply because someone lied to their spouse that they'd had an affair with a celebrity.

I mean, we seem very, very ready to convict him of doing it on no actual proof. And that ain't right, for him or for anyone.

Did you see the texts? Did you listen to the recording of the call? I mean...

If you want to just delusionally support your hero, cool. But the writing has been on the wall about who Smitty is off the field for a long time. Loved watching the guy play ball but he's a guy I have zero desire to meet and I'm done defending him.

Smitty is a legendary footballer player but this has really damaged his reputation as a person. You don’t cheat on a woman who has been with you through everything and gave you children and especially not with another man’s wife. He doesn’t even have any remorse about it, acting like nothing happened.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
