I sure hope not. Good grief it seems like the Panthers have more than paid their fair share to the injury goblin over the years. So many of our elite talents have been detailed in their prime by major injuries. From Cam to Beason to Morgan to Luke. You can fairly include guys like KB who looked to be emerging as an elite WR and guys like Oher who was actually looking like the blindsided protector he was hailed to be. Despite his resurgence much of TD's prime was stolen from us with him fighting back from ACL after ACL. I get that football is a brutal sport, but damn... can't we just have some nice things every now and then without injuries fuging it up?

I am having trouble understanding why this is a thing now.   Pretty much anyone you ask and they would say the meniscus is the part of the knee you would want to injure over the acl or pcl.   I guess his size is slowing the rehab.  fug I dont know but at this point its not good.

Depends heavily on the extent of the damage. Many meniscus tears are simply a cleanup and couple of week recovery process, so the fact that he was out for the entire year and still recovering seemingly points to it being a very serious injury. Perhaps he actually tore it loose from the bone and didn't just damage the tissue itself.

I've no idea if this is what he had done but knee cartilage damage is exactly the scenario where they do microfracture surgery. If that's what he had, again noting that I'm simply talking in hypothetical with no indication that he actually had it, then that could definitely prolong a recovery as well.

Even if it was that serious it still is a head scratcher he is still dealing with it 9 months later.  I am still believing just his enormous size is probably slowing things down.  Tearing up your knee and being 325 pounds has to take time to get right.   I guess we will see what happens in TC but this is starting to feel like there is more to the story or whatever.

 

I had mine shaved a while back and it was basically 100% in roughly a month or so.  I did a ton of stretching and knee exercises and it was fine.

Getting it shaved/removing part of it (meniscectomy) is a different procedure. You got the Dollar Tree option while Brown got  the quality option.

without a doubt his was much more serious, I am just saying of all the knee injuries it appears that the meniscus tear appears to the the shorter recovery time compared to acl/pcl/mcl.  Seems like people bounce back quicker whether its a clean up or full tear.

      Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!

      When the broadcast showed the two benches side by side during the last TV timeout, it was pretty obvious the whole operation is a shitshow. If I was the owner, I would play that clip, with commentary, on the jumbotron at MSG as I fired the coach, GM, President, the whole lot. Bring in your AHL leadership team, wholesale, to finish out the season and start from scratch next year.  Can't fire all the players and fold the season. But, hopefully decapitating the zombie will light a fire under the body and burn out the cancer of the roster. (It makes sense if you don't think about it...) There are obviously issues on the roster. But, you can't have the entire coaching staff completely tuned out with 5 minutes left in a 2 goal game this early in the season. And you can't trust the people that hired them to hire the next staff. If you trust your AHL GM/Scouts, let them run the deadline firesale.   ...     Please don't let the owner read any of this. Because, this poo is hilarous!
