I’m expecting a breakout season from Ja'tavion Sanders

Well he did break the team record for most receiving yards from a rookie TE iirc.

The thing is...

Unless we plan on using more two TE sets, Tremble will get the most play Imo. I dont think alot of people caught the chemistry that Bryce and Tommy had to close out the season. I knew they were bringing him back just based off the connection those two had the last few games.

Sanders has alot of upside though..scary upside to be honest. And if he was to get drafted this year, I think he'd be ranked between third or fifth after Loveland, Warren and Arroyo. He's probably neck and neck with Mason Taylor.

Another TE I had high hopes for was Jordan Matthews, especially after OTA's and preseason last year. But after the Mitchell Evans pick the writing might be on the wall 4 him unless he's saved by ST play.

I don’t mean to dump on you, but we always have too many unrealistic hopes in the preseason. It’s one thing if we were back in the playoffs/winning divisions but when we stink we are really unrealistic. Jordan Matthews hadn’t played in years but we think he could do well? Sanders breaking Panther rookie TE records so now he’ll double that production even after we add a 3rd down RB and a, hopefully, stud WR? I’m hoping for the team to keep improving but let’s discuss the top 2 Panthers rookie TE seasons:

33-342 1 TD

36-333 2 TDs

I didn’t look it up but I’m assuming the comment about Sanders breaking a record is true, so Sanders is the first row. Anyone hazard a guess on who row two is? That’s right, that’s our legendary Ian Thomas. If Sanders can’t block and Evans can, I really hope Evans wins the starting or 2nd TE spot. I feel like we discussed this before that we often tipped our hand pass/run based on the TE playing. Sanders wasn’t so dynamic that he’s got to be on the field so hopefully Evans/Tremble step up so that we can run or pass at any time without being hindered by bad blocking.

With the money and draft picks we have spent on our wide receiver group, and with the way Canales has said he wants to run the ball, a breakout season for a Panthers tight end could be 30-40 catches.  For him and Tremble, quality will matter more than quantity.  Make some clutch catches, be a solid end zone target, and that should be sufficient.

    • So you can explain how he was top 10....but won't.  We need to look it up ourselves?  I googled it.  Can't find the argument based on stats and facts.
    • Well, I think Nike has it all down to a sweet mathematical science to max revenue of what they average person will buy in terms of price....and what the average person will do with a dirty jersey.   Then they construct them accordingly.   and yeah, it's not about being tackled in them but I'm sure Nike knows exactly how each tier will react to washings...and then sunlight, heat, fading and on and on.    Just asking google about it there are tons of tiktoks, you tubes, reddit posts, etc with folks complaining about what a simple wash can do to a new one.    Your washing machine gets cooler tech....so you pay more now and it doesn't last as long .  My son's football cleats that help max speed got a hole in them before they even made it into the season this past year.     Now our football jersey's are lightweight with new mesh because it's totally better.....the end game is always because the big corporations have found the synergy between new and improved and not lasting as long.  That's my take.  I think everything is made to wear out sooner under the guise of but it's better today.
