and his usage will be intertwined with the safeties' usage.  I kinda see what they might be doing.  Send Moehrig and play Ransom deep, using Wallace covering the TE.  Send Wallace, Moehrig in coverage, Ransom deep.  Send Ransom and Wallace, Moehrig in coverage....Not sure exactly what it will look like, but keeping Horn was important.  He is the shutdown CB that can cover in man.   Jackson may need help over the top, so the need for a free safety that can read the entire field is not necessary; play deep third behind Jackson and the #2 WR.  Just brainstorming--no need for an umbrella when I do that.

This thinking is correct, cover 3 is Evero's preferred coverage, zone blitz underneath. Sliding coverage and moving the blitz and attack point around a lot. You'll see a lot of cover 3 with the box stacked and every down a different player will come even if it's still only a 4 player rush.

But Evero is more known for mixing his coverages up but showing cover 3 pre snap while rolling to cover 2 or cover 4 allowing a safety to blitz off the edge while rolling the OLB on the opposite side into the flat or under edge zone.

We also signed a guy who made 135 tackles last year in 11 starts during free agency. Yes, it was a career year for the guy who bounced around a lot, but you don't make 135 tackles in the NFL sitting on the bench.

We might have more than we think.

Improving the line in front of him should give us a better look at what the young man can really do. Couple that with a year of experience under his belt and I hope he can take off.

Sure would be nice for the linebacking corps here to be league best once again

We did set the mark very, very high around here.

Oh the things Panther fans took for granted.

I was thinking the same. Wallace is still pretty raw.

IMO Evero will have no excuses for a bad defense. I believe we have depth at most of our defensive positions.

They keep saying things like "the position is devalued". They say the same things about running backs, strangely enough. Then our like of linebackers give opposing running backs the most historically bad defense to run against in league history.

It sucks when people who don't understand football tell you how football is played in the modern age.

I like how you're just completely glossing over our DL situation last year to attempt to drive home your preferred narrative. LOL

A lot fewer RBs and off the ball LBs get drafted in the first round and land big money deals in the modern NFL. Get triggered by the word "devalued" if you want, but reality is reality.

Wallace has been getting some serious mentoring from TD and a bit from Kuechly as well. Both have been sitting down with him looking at tape.

Just curious, how did you hear (or read) about Wallace studying with TD and Luke? For him to do that in year 1 shows a real dedication to his craft and could really take his game to a new level over the next couple of years.
