Yeah, for us to be a playoff team we need a LOT of production out of youngsters in key positions - most notably at WR, TE, and pass rusher. If we don't have some big time impact rookies on those units we aren't gonna have a chance to compete for a playoff spot. If we do have some big time impact rookies on those key position groups and Bryce picks up where he left off down the stretch last year then the future is actually going to look bright for the first time in a long time regardless of what the W-L record is.

I expect improvements but ultimately fan dissatisfaction on offense and slight improvements to the defense which leaves the fanbase loudly calling for Evero's head.

That's my prediction for short term path.

Which, I can be okay with that. I just need to see that we have more OBVIOUS core players emerge. If that happens, I am good.

Yeah, this is a prove it year for Evero IMO. I haven't been impressed. A lot was made of his personal involvement in our defensive free agent acquisitions last year and it culminated in the worst defense in NFL history. I get it, losing Brown was a HUGE blow but c'mon... it's not like adding Brown turns the worst D in history into a serviceable unit. We were gonna suck hard regardless.

And then you see preseason talks about "Evero guys" like DJ Johnson when everyone can acknowledge his JAG status is pretty evident.

I think the worst part about the whole Evero fiasco is that we will likely have to do a mild rebuild anyway for his eventual successor with a chunk invested already in "Evero guys."

I'm really hoping that his input on this off-season's defensive roster moves were of far less significance than we were led to believe about his input last off-season.

Kind of bizarre Hubbard is already on the cusp of surpassing McCaffrey considering how comically overused he was at times here.

As much as I'd like to see Hubbard get over 4k this season the priority should be offensive versatility. We have a nice RB room and it's a long season. Spread the ball around.

My "WTF" is its been 30 years as a team, during which they've had many good-great RBs and 7,000 is the tops???

NFL is just 100x harder than most think. I'd figure someone would have 10,000+, especially looking at the names.

They tried to replace Huddard two different times as well- sanders contract and drafting brooks. Both blew up in their face and to save face, resign the standard Hubbard.

100%. Him picking his guys so far, whether through the draft or free agency, has been a bust.

Evero has been given an incredible amount of rope here really.

Other than Bryce (and maybe equally so) is pressure on Evero.

If his scheme and coaching is so great, it's time to see it on the field.

It was encouraging to see Dan get guys that are not typical evero guys

You look at the NFL all-time rushing leaders, there's some players from this millennium but a lot were players from before we even had a franchise. Given how it's swung back towards being less of a passing league, not a surprise if Chuba can get up to third all-time in rushing yards at some point. Obviously, the biggest factor is if he can stay healthy enough.

Yea I think he either gets fired, or the defense is good enough that he gets a head coaching gig.  Time's up.  It's kinda run its course.
