maybe renting a Bobby Wagner might of made more sense than thanking Adam Theilen though back in March if they knew this.

9 million on Adam Thielen and 8 million on Andy Dalton (over 100 million in career earnings now) while we have nothing at linebacker is certainly a look. Hey we're just happy to be here!

I can see what Dan is doing. We will have a winning team year after year.

next draft will be ILB and safety with 1 or 2 OL

Dan has a great plan

5, 7, 2, 5

that's been the Panthers with Morgan as Asst GM and GM.   I think in Tepperland, Morgan is actually setup for things to go south for him real quick and everyone here turns on him.  Just takes basically, one more season like the rest.  Think Morgan's seat has potential to get drastically hot with a quickness around these parts.

and really the 7 win season, was Wilks and the team fugging up the front offices plan/design the second half of that year.

True, but on the flip side we didn’t know if TMac would be there at 8. You gotta roll with guesses at some point and then adapt as things change. Let’s see what Morgan does

Part of our problem is that we've been focusing on trying to put the best bad team that we possibly can on the field instead of focusing on building the best foundation to build on that we can. Making short term decisions to try to duct tape together a competitive roster. The end result is that you're going to suck now and you're going to suck later. I hope we're watching us transition into an organization that realizes that's a hopeless approach.

That’s not true at all. We’ve made some bad decisions, yes, but overall we absolutely are not doing what you stated since Dan took over. I agree with you with Fitt tho.

Last year we heavily invested in OL and this year in DL. A mix of vet proven and young potential. Over those 2 years have also slowly built up the WR room. Those are long term foundational type moves. Assume the DL pans out as well as the OL did, you now start adding tier 2 pieces such as LB, S, and TE.

I think that he was referring to Rhule and Fitterer's management. His last sentence suggests that he is hopeful in Dan's management. We'll know the answer by the time 2026 is done though.

I expect to see a better team on the field this year.. pushing for 2nd place in the NFCS.

We are not at the point to make a run against the Eagles or Detroit or even the Bucks at this point. I just want to see a team that is playing in meaningly games in December this year.

More than that, I want to get a definitive answer on BY this year.

Next year has to be the year to push.

"Since Dan took over" is very recently. I'm talking a lot longer term than that. We honestly haven't seen enough yet to know if Dan's approach is going to work or not.

I mean, Dan went out and spent more than every team in the NFL on our OL.  Not sure that signature move is a sign of good roster building/management.   Any GM can largely problem solve an area by going that route.   And the OL is really the only position where we have actual answers.  I don't equate what we have done w/ the DL being on par w/ the OL.

I also don't think it's total fair to completely wipe Dan Morgan's existence from the vision and plans where he was asst GM.  I'm still largely of the belief.....Fitterer just took the fall for what largely was a brainstrust that hasn't changed that much.

Heading into the '26 draft, I would've said LB was our R1 pick and that does not look like it will change for me.

I also think a LB will shake free from a team between now and week 1 that is in the Mike Jackson cornerback tier of player. Whether its a trade or cut, I think Dan will bring in some competition. I'm not a huge fan of the FA crop that's left, so we shall see.

Rozeboom is not that far off of Josey, IMO and I feel that the coaching staff sees that too.

Wishing the best for Jewell to get better and live life.

I don't see why they wouldn't just put him on IR since it'll only save 3.4mil in cap space. He was one of the few bright spots on the defense last year, and I think one of the core players on that defense and leaders they could build around, especially being an Ejiro guy.

Same with Jonathan Brooks, how they decided to PUP him instead of just put him in IR, so now he still counts against team roster spot AND is out for the year. I feel our management team is having a hard time figuring out how to use player injury designation for some reason. Just feels amateurish, but hopefully we grow.

We have to pay a backup QB something?  Dalton is making 8 million over 2 years.  Honestly that's pretty cheap.  Argument aside of how good he is, his contract seems fine.  Plenty of blame to go around for our cap getting full, but the backup QB on a 2 year 8 million dollar deal seems like quite the reach.
