I said the final score of the preseason. Dude, I get it. You didn't want to draft T-Mac and you really wanted a pass rusher.

I'm just saying that your odds of finding a true impact pass rusher at #9 in this year's draft was slim to none. Hell, I wanted Jalon Walker too. But I'm not gonna crash out over and over about it. I said before the draft that I wasn't I wasn't in love with any particular prospect but if it was my call I'd draft Walker, but I understand it if T-Mac is the pick.

I dont see anybody crashing out, YOU brought up walker not doing anything in pre season more than one occasion now and at the same time have said good pre season performances by rookies shouldn't matter. so I'm just understanding the thinking of how this justifies us picking tet over him right now when neither one has played regular season down yet. For the record,  I never thought tet was a bad pick overall, I just thought the defense was way more of a pressing need at the time. Whether walker is good or tet is the piece to turn offense around as a whole remains to be seen. Both things are questionable right now.

No, they really aren't.

Gabriel and Pickett are PS players at their extreme ceiling. Sanders could be a #3 and Flacco is a poor man's Dalton.

None of their QB's are worth even a casual look.

Flacco could be a rich man's Dalton, but that's not saying much.

I mean, given how we've utterly failed at building a competent football organization and how terrible Mayfield looked here before rebounding in Tampa... yeah, not sure if I'd call that a "real chance".

The way to start building a competent org is to stop churning through QBs, GMs, and HC’s every year.

What they are doing with Bryce is a good start.

Even if he busts, doing everything you can to support your rookie QB is the right move.

If Bryce bombs again this season I almost hope he goes somewhere else and proves to be legit. Like damn, yeah it's really time to just move on. Tepper killed it.

Obviously I am no bryce fan, but damn resetting with another rookie qb just starts everything over unless you absolutely get it right.  You got faith that would happen?

Rookie pass rushers usually aren't impact players. That's all I'm saying. Good grief man...

He isn't. He is a 40 year old guy that can on occasion catch a glimpse of past glory, literally a 3 year older version of Andy Dalton.

The die is set. People need to quit pretending like this is salvageable if Bryce doesn't pan out.

It's absolutely lightspeed delusional to even look past Bryce in 2025. If he doesn't pan out, it's 2026 that is the next step.

I have zero idea why people haven't accepted this for months now.

When are they hanging the joint practice banner?

We need a billboard in Charlotte right next to the Hornets Summer League Champions one.

What a basement-ass sports city we are

At least with players in the draft they don't have much choice. But I think we found ourselves in a situation where were left scraping the bottom of the barrel for HC and GM talent. I don't think anyone out there really had Canales and Morgan as legit HC and GM candidates but our lists have to start where everyone else's end.

    • Didn't  see this posted (since 2023) but since folks have been posting that you can't judge a draft class for three years (a ridiculous take), I thought I'd post this to see what people thought about the 2023 draft. Unfortunately this may not be the most interesting class to do this with but I do quite like retrospective draft grades. Would appreciate other's takes on this (and other recent) draft classes.   1(1) - Bryce Young QB: I am a bigger Bryce Young apologist than most (maybe all). I like the kid. But there is no way around it: This was a terrible pick. If he had been picked in the 4th or even the 3rd round I would feel pretty good about it. But this was the first overall pick that we gave up two firsts, our best offensive player to get.  GRADE: C -    2(39) - Jonathan Mingo WR: not much to say here here. He was here for two years. His yards per catch are on par with Bryce's yards per pass. Rough stuff. To date he has still never scored a touchdown in the NFL GRADE: F   3(80) - DJ Johnson OLB: a pick I hated as soon as it happened and an example of why the premise of this thread is honestly dumb. This was a bad pick when it happened. Most people knew it.  Then came training camp and he did not look good. Then came the preseason which confirmed what we saw in TC. Then came the season which confirmed what we saw in preseason. To date, he has half a sack in his career. GRADE: F 4 (114) Chandlers Zavala G: Honestly the best pick of this draft which really speaks to how awful this draft is. Other than Bryce, the only pick still on the team. He is mostly average or below average depth which in round 4 is not terrible. But he had a pff score of 43.5 and though I think people have unrealistic expectations for draft picks, I still would want a little more from a fourth round pick GRADE: C+   5 (145) - Jammie Robinson S: I liked the pick when it happened but ended up being a disappointment. He logged 1 tackle with the falcons last year and not enough snaps to get a grade on PFF.  GRADE: F OVERALL DRAFT GRADE: F
