He was extremely smart and chose the best possible spot to become a new HC.

Not enough of them do that.

Yup, He had a close up view of Williams and said, " I can work with this kid."  Not to mention the rest of the roster has some good parts.  Kind of like Harbaugh fell into a ideal situation with the Chargers.  Not often a HC opportunity opens up with a borderline playoff team and a young, established QB with talent.

Dude, what would Canales look like with Caleb Williams, Tyson Bagent, DJ Moore, Egbuka (or the other OSU receiver), Luther Burden, Loveland, their offensive line to include Thuney, etc.

what should have been telling to us, as fans, is when Ben Johnson turned the Carolina job down. If Bryce was such a progeny, he would have jumped at the opportunity to come here like he did to go to Chicago.

Egbuka is a Buc unfortunately.  I think he is going to be a stud at this level.

Ben Johnson turned down a chance to coach Jaden Daniels as well as Drake Maye also.  He saw Chicago has a pretty loaded roster to take over.  I wouldn't crown him a great HC yet either.  Plenty of great OCs struggle as HCs plus he has a tough division in the NFCN.

Well, no Young trade and we’d be able to see what Williams, DJ and Burden could do. Along with Jalen Carter to pair with Brown.

Yeah he allegedly didn’t take the Washington job because he wanted to work with San Howell and didn’t think they should draft Jayden Daniels.

Good Lord, he is a pretty terrible judge of QB if that was true. I am skeptical.

Honestly its not easy to do that. Gotta strike while the iron is hot. Example: Bobby Slowik

Well, his iron was hot for a while and with the weapons he had in Detroit, it wasn't likely to fall off anytime soon.

He did the right thing, several offseasons of interviews/interest and chose the right situation.

That's where a lot of these guys fail. Thinking they can go to a poorly run franchise or a franchise in a deep hole and then be able to dig out of it.

He didn't like their new ownership. Didn't he call them NBA owners or something? So same as us, he wanted ownership that would let him succeed.
