Panthers possibly trading Thielen?

It seems like we're keeping Thielen

The Exhibit’s Josina Anderson reports the Vikings are “not likely” to trade for Panthers WR Adam Thielen “at this point.”
That makes two national reporters who have pumped the brakes on a potential Thielen-Vikings reunion. Both Anderson and The Athletic’s Dianna Russini highlighted the potential deal’s financial speed bumps while also stopping short of fully ruling out the trade between the two teams at some point. If the Panthers are willing to take on some of Thielen’s contract to facilitate the trade, the Vikings might be willing to make the move.

If he is the one helping Bryce read defenses, do we really want him gone when we still lost to Tampa 48-14 close to the end of the season? Do we want him gone? I'd say no.

Btw that was the only defense last year that played twice against the Bryce led offense which uh is not a good sign

Has that been said anywhere? Not hating on you, just curious.

I watched it happen all game in Atlanta. I had very good seats for that game. I’m fairly certain I mentioned it in the game thread at the time and also mentioned it up thread.

it’s very obvious live.

Sounds like posturing happening. Might not get done today, but we will see. Either way, I like that Dan isn't backing down and giving him away for chump change.

It’s probably the kind of stupid bullshit that tepper has done since arriving in Charlotte, most notably with the training facility in Spartanburg: make a deal, agree to terms, then demand a little bit more at the very last second after all the work has been done.

It’s stupid 80s businessman bullshit

It was mentioned earlier in this thread, and then again just below you. Adam is helping Bryce call out the defensive play, and helping with protections it seems. It becomes more obvious when he's out of the game and our offense looks like post chorizo soft baby poo.

People keep forgetting about that game like it didn't happen. Sure, the Cardinals and the Falcons were defeated, but it took overtime. Against the real competition for the division, we are so, so far behind. If Baker can play even slightly more consistent on a play to play basis, Tampa Bay could be a dark horse for the Bowl. He's pretty consistent game to game and now he's really got it down to play to play.

Our third year 1st overall pick QB needs Thielen for that? I thought this guy was a savant field general aka a smaller Peyton Manning?

If that's is truly the case then I think we HAVE to trade him. You have to find out if Bryce can handle the load. The Thielen training wheels won't be around forever. That type of stuff was supposed to be what Bryce excelled at. We certainly didn't draft him for his excellent physical attributes.

Don't get me back on the "keep Darnold, keep Wilks, keep Foreman, trade down, take Charbonnet, Torrance, Mimms, and maybe Kincaid depending on what we got in a trade down."

Those were my desires in 2023. Tepper wouldn't answer my call. He's reaping what he sowed. And all of us has had precious time wasted in our lives that we will never get back supporting his business.

I agree with you.

All I can say for sure is I am beyond coddling. We coddled Darnold. We've coddled Bryce. Enough is enough. It's time to show up and show out.

Ironically, the one guy we didn't coddle is the guy who went on to have the most success elsewhere. I fully expect Darnold to regress now that he's left Minnesota.

    • My projection. I think at WR its time to go with youth. This means Moore should be the odd man out. Horn can return both punts and kicks and Tremayne is a better WR than Moore. XL gets one more year to prove himself, although I could see a trade in the future which would mean Moore could stay. For OL, I would like us to bring back Brady if we can. The RBs, Trevor can return both punts and kicks too. With the uncertainty of Brooks and Dillon, its hard to choose either one. I think the team would like for Brooks to have a breakout season to clear any uncertainty that he deserves a spot. For now, I have them both even and on the team. DL looks solid as well as OLB. Watch out for the UDFA of Aaron Hall and Isaiah Smith at OLB. They look promising and could knock someone off the team. ILB is still the biggest weakness on the team. We need to upgrade that any means necessary. CB is strong and Im praying to all the Gods that Wheatley beats out Scott at FS.  OFFENSE: WR: Tetairoa McMillan - *Chris Brazzell II* - Brycen Tremayne TE: Tommy Tremble - James Mitchell LT: #Rasheed Walker# - *Monroe Freeling* LG: Damien Lewis C- #Luke Fortner# - *Sam Hecht* RG: Robert Hunt - #Saahdiq Charles# RT: Taylor Moton - #Stone Forsythe# TE: Ja`Tavion Sanders - Mitchell Evans WR: Xavier Legette - Jalen Coker - Jimmy Horn Jr. QB: Bryce Young - #Kenny Pickett# RB: Chuba Hubbard - Trevor Etienne - #AJ Dillon# - Jonathon Brooks DEFENSE: LE: Tershawn Wharton - Bobby Brown III  NT: *Lee Hunter* - Cam Jackson RE: Derrick Brown - LaBryan Ray LOLB: Nic Scourton - Patrick Jones II  LILB: Trevin Wallace - Bam Martin-Scott - *Jackson Kuwatch* RILB: #Devin Lloyd# - Claudin Cherrelus  ROLB: #Jaelen Phillips# - Princely Umanmielen LCB: Jaycee Horn - Akayleb Evans RCB: Mike Jackson - *Will Lee III* - Chau Smith-Wade SS: Tre`von Moehrig - Lathan Ransom FS:  Nick Scott - *Zakee Wheatley* - Demani Richardson  SPECIAL TEAMS: K/KO: Ryan Fitzgerald P/H: Sam Martin KR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. PR: Trevor Etienne - Jimmy Horn Jr. LS: J.J. • His contract is guaranteed.  Legette is just not where he needs to be mentally.  Not fully invested, it seems.
    • Literally like Hill. He's not QB1 material (now or ever), but if we can turn him into a H-back and use him like  Swiss army knife, that's his ticket to make the roster.  H-back/emergency QB.  I wonder how good his hands are?  If they are at least above average by NFL standards then we can line him up in the backfield, in the slot, split out wide and of course, in the Wildcat.
