The issue is they were hired in the first place. 

And Mr. Tepper didn't just hire front office executives to handle everything. He personally hopped on a plane with his right hand man Marty Hurney and flew out to Matt Rhule's house and let Rhule woo him with meatballs and life stories.

Tepper was also fully involved in the hiring of Reich and did so bypassing another candidate in Wilks.

Tepper also made it abundantly clear that he was pining for Bryce Young months before the draft.

To believe he was not steering the trajectory of the team in some significant capacity throughout this would be akin to believing in Santa Claus.

To be clear I am legitimately hoping the Tepper's have actually learned something through the worst win percentage in professional sports.

Anywho. Icege pooing posts over valid David Tepper criticism is peak white knighting. Never seen anyone here so delusional and that includes PFFL.

I was optimistic at first.  I celebrated at least attempting something radically different.  Once press and cameras got into camp after COVID going into his 2nd season......the red flags were going off like crazy.      And the Panthers have had preseason red flags ever since.

I've always said this from the start.  Tepper has made 2 huge mistakes.  Rhule and Reich.  Im open to adding Fitt as well.  Trusting his football people can be damning when you choose the wrong people.

I think he got rid of Rivera too fast. Rivera wasn't the issue here, Hurney was.

Everybody can speak for themselves, but my guess is you got poo’ed for immediately reverting to the “Do you work for the Tepper’s” comment in an otherwise normal discussion.

For me, the first red flag was saying that it would be a five year rebuild.  Then cutting Cam, and then inexplicably signing Bridgewater for a significant amount of money, basically saying that just because we were in a five year rebuild didn't me we couldn't win now.  All before he coached a single game.  That whole thing was just baffling.  

Better to just stick with Cam for his final year, see if his arm had anything left and if not, draft someone else.

      You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.

      I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.

      holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
