Knee jerk reaction is gb got a great player but in actuality i have rarely if at all ever seen a trade like this work for the team giving up the pics.  Seems theres all this hype then alot of time players get these huge contracts and let their foot off thr gas and coast...khalil mak is a recent one as well as of course watson

I think that overall big trades just don't work out for either team just because it's so hard to win in this league. Mack trade didn't work out for either organization honestly but even if the Raiders hadn't traded him they almost certainly don't win a superbowl with him

And to think we could have traded burns, a pass rusher much worse than Parsons, for almost the same as Parsons...

God we blew that chance

this is the real travesty in all of this. how you don't trade burns for that is asinine but then not to immediately extend him that moment is even more diabolical

If you bump that long BB trade thread, I said "if you turn down two 1st even future ones and other picks, you 100% have to sign him long term". *But now the burns camp has more Leverage in contract talks, still you have to pony up.

BB whatever people think(I didn't have a good opinion) was very young and talented. The team needing young talent the most is the Panthers. Getting that 2nd and turning it into a RB that's going to miss 32 out of 34 games, just shoot both hands while you are at Danny boy......Again the panther lack young talent and they took a high valued stock and sat on it until it tanked and then used the remains to another loser stock chips....... Wow that's how to suck 101.....

I’m seeing articles indicating we called about Parsons but backed out when they wanted DBrown. I am guessing the price was D Brown and 2 firsts

I wouldn't have had a problem with giving up Brown for Parsons but we literally can't afford the 2 firsts. That's future roster suicide.

Dallas is so dumb. If I was Dallas I would’ve taken Ashawn Robinson or Wharton or hell even Bobby Brown instead of Brown if it meant securing our 2 1st rounders

Kenny Clark is about to turn 30 and isn’t anything special but those 1st rounders from GB are most likely going to be in the 20’s

Our picks could end up ranging from like 5-18

Parsons to Carolina made no sense if we were going to try and give him what he wanted. If it was 2 1sts,  DB, and that contract, there was no feasible was to build around him in the next 4 years, especially with Bryce still lacking a full season of productivity. GB has their QB. We aren't certain yet, though the end of last season was reason for optimism. Parsons is an elite talent, but unfortunately we're not in the position to make that type of move for him. That's a put you over the top SB window run type move.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
