I think cutting Renfrow at the time was actually a move to try to increase Thielen's trade value. They are essentially the same player and having them both on the roster slightly deminishes their value.

Came on here to say the exact same thing. I think having Renfrow and AT at the same time might have lowered the leverage with MIN.

They may very well have mentioned that option during negotiations. Who knows how it all went down.

For the same reason we signed Cam back in '21.

Thielen has always been a Viking and is from the state. Based on talent and traits, they're similar, but Thielen is probably retiring after '25....why not do it back home.

We put a ton of high draft capital into young WRs over the past few years. We drafted a WR in top 2 rounds of the draft in 4 out of the past 5 years. At some point, we need to rely on the dudes we drafted vs relying on veteran role players. That's the only way we're going to evolve as a team and take the next step to going back to winning again.

Remember when Cam lost KB and everyone thought it was the end of the universe? And 2015 happened.  Maybe losing Theilen and Coker will open some opportunities for some other guys to step up.

Yeah but the guys that stepped up when KB left were veterans well into their careers.

Ted “no hands” Ginn and his sidekick Grandpa Cotchery.

Sounds a bit like Jimmy Horn Jr and David Moore lol. Obviously Horn is a rookie but ideally plays the same role as a Ginn
