Hot Takes Immediately After the Game

Why bring in another QB? You want another mid season turnaround to take us out of drafting top 5? Either ride Bryce into the ground or into the playoffs. Looking like the ground right now.

Yeah so nobody else wants to sign here. I’d take my chances with this roster and an average QB. Got to have something respectable here to recruit some Free Agents

Corbett snaps harder than Bryce throws.

I'd take Phillies Karen as D Coordinator.  She'd throw out the incense, turn off the soft music and teach the guys how to grab people and say "it's my ball".  I'm done with the Evero is a genius fans.

How does a GM who effectively played LB come close to believing we are anywhere near okay in that position?

Also done with the Canales is a details guy.  Week after week we allow the small things to be missed and turn into much larger things. We'll never become winners until we master the details.

I do give front office credit for T-Mac - he appears to be a baller.

Moehrig - a run stopper?  Seems like you need to be in position to do that effectively.

While it's easy to blame Tepper - it does seem like he has stepped back a little and that also seems to show it's not just him.

That's all for now - need to go vomit again.

I’m really shocked that with the players we picked up on the d-line that we still give up 200 on the ground. I don’t know what the answer is, but I’m pretty sure Evero is on a very short leash.

They had some stuffs early but things opened up rather quickly after that. That 4th and 1 on the Jags opening drive was ridiculous and honestly If they ain’t playing mean and fast after that disrespect then we don’t have the “dawgs” that Morgan seemed to be going for. And the jags OL was completely stonewalling our pass rush.

Good: TMac, Horn, D. Brown, Chuba

Bad: Corbett, The Entire non-Brown/Horn D, Dave Canales, Evero, the OL

Time to move on: Bryce, XL

I’ll be honest, I was thinking we need to try and trade XL by the end of the game too.

He just doesn’t “get it” and I’m not sure he will, he still has trade value right now before the rest of the league gets it, I wouldn’t be against exploring that option once Coker is back.

I don't think this coaching staff does a good job of getting the team prepared. And we have a severe lack of talent

Yea one thing that I did appreciate about Rivera was even with some quite notable exceptions that the team did usually come motivated and prepared to play an NFL football game. Canales looks like he spent yesterday on the golf course and casually strolled into work today to cash a check.

I am not shocked but it shouldn't have led to basically zero improvement.

The starters did not play enough in the preseason. They just are not prepared mentally and physically for week 1.  This is a pattern with Tepper, Morgan, and Canales.

Canales doesn’t instill enough discipline and the team has a serious lack of focus.  He’s always so positive it gives a false sense of where we are with this rebuild. We are a 4-6 win team…again.

T-Mac is a very good receiver, but we should have taken that LB from Georgia. We’ll just end up having to trade T-Mac away in a year or two because we can’t win games with the weaknesses in the middle of our D.

Same old story…can’t stop the run, no pass rush, lack of execution when it mattered on offense.

It’s not like we expected a playoff team, but the f-ing JAX players were literally laughing at us. Laughing AT us.

Let’s see where it goes from here. On offense the problem was lack of preparedness and execution.  On defense the problems are systemic. Evero just is NOT a good DC.

They should fire him and hire and interim DC.

He literally does nothing well. Like....nothing.

How long do we need this project to last? Until he is 28?

I hate to be that way about a guy with a season and a game but JFC, he can't do the simplest poo.

It’s not a shock. We dropped backup quality players and signed new (higher paid) backup quality players.
