Do You Agree With These Excuses?

It's always everything else and never what it looks like. The only TD was a run. It was the Jags so the bar was as low as it gets competition wise. What percent of his stats, missed and realized, were 4th quarter down by 3 scores again? There are some flip sides to a rookie WR, drops and the rest of the situation not being HOF standard. In the end SSDD. Lawrence isn't a good QB but he looked like one in comparison. Not great QBs still do more in those situations than Bryce. They try more when it's 4th down while being behind, not always succeed but at least try.

The only light Bryce looks good in is when he is compared to himself at rock bottom and historically bad. Without that he just plain looks bad and limited agaisnt poor competition.

Lol, and no other QB has to go through drops or wrong routes ran...

I have never seen another QB be coddled by reporters and the like and find every possible excuse except for Bryce just not being that good

Facts!!! God damn I wish Cam had this many excuses made for him, he’d be in the hall of fame

The mistakes on Sunday weren’t a result of Bryce’s physical limitations. Bryce’s decision making was a problem which depending on where you sit might be a bigger issue.

What in the absolute holy fug are you babbling about?   He literally missed throws because he cannot see the field.  The commentators mentioned it and we discussed it here in real time.   He misses throws due to lack of arm strength and poo mechanics.  He doesnt know how to slide, a simple fuging qb trait, therefore he is prone to fumbles.   He still has to jump pass and again it leads to sailing throws.

I mean seriously what in the fug were you watching on sunday.  If you are still defending Bryce at this point you are either related to him or simply dont know what the fug you talking about

When he looks like trash this week against the Cardinals what's going to be the excuse?

He probably goes for like 180 yards off some very very conservative throws at 60% ish completion with the RBs doing all the heavy lifting ….then Bryce defenders will declare it an example of how great Bryce can be.

Bryce will have one downfield throw.  An incompletion to TMac on a 50/50’ball.  PFF will declare Young one of the best deep passers in the NFL week 2….because if TMac caught it Bryce would have been PERFECT!!

I don’t look at what could have been I look at what happened and what happened is the WR let Bryce down AND Bryce sucked.

outside of XL not getting his feet down …. How did the WRs let him down?  Or is TMac, who played great, potentially running one bad route on a play in his first NFL game enough for that claim? Despite every NFL QB facing Sunday’s with imperfect WR play, imperfect OL play, etc.

excuses are just made for Bryce that aren’t recognized as just life as a QB.  You can pick any QB in the NFL and find a host of plays where things didn’t go to plan around them all game

its just the 3rd season of poo excuses.  What fuging else does bryce need to throw over 200 yards?

It's really not. It's painful to watch. I mean, I guess it's hilarious if you're a fan of another team. I'd be laughing my ass off if he played for the Falcons.

I'm glad someone pointed this out. It shows how much of an echo chamber effect has taken hold for some regarding Bryce. Legitimately every single one of these people would be clowning on him 24/7 if he was the starting QB for any of our division rivals.

If you need any confirmation of that. One of the biggest most outspoken Bryce defenders recently within the last week spent multiple pages gleefully celebrating Caleb Williams struggles.

The every single little thing has to be perfect for him to have marginal success rationale is beyond the pale. This guy was supposed to be a "magician" off script. That was his bread and butter before the draft. Now we need top talent top coaching top to bottom perfection every single time guys lineup etc. These people are insane.

    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
    • I think people aren’t patient enough with Young. It can take a few years for a QB to develop. Look at Darnold, Baker and most recently Daniel Jones.   he hasn’t been able to put up big passing numbers either cause of how much we run the ball. You can tell our coaching staff still hasn’t took the training wheels off Bryce and let him go all out. We’ve had some pretty bad receivers as well. We finally got a true number one last year and look how much Bryce improved. Still we didn’t really have any depth behind TMac. Coker was hurt for a lot of the year and XL was our #2. How many big plays or TDs has XL dropped? I think this year can be the year we see Bryce able to hit his stride. If not then we can start looking for another qb but I just ask people to be patient.
