WR drops

Only 4 NFL Quarterbacks Sunday had WRs drop passes on Sunday.

Allen, Rodgers, Tua, and Lawrence.

3 of those 4 QBs walked away with wins.

This post is DOA. Watching that Miami game and they get credited with 0 drops!? Also you have CeeDee Lamb admitting he dropped 4 passes in their loss but 0 for him too.

Wherever you are getting stats from I would change that source.

They aren't credited with drops.   That's just PFF.  Not sure why they are still being pimped this hard when week 1 really highlights how bad they can be at times.  Especially when they manufactured Bryce's grade like they did.  Some 1984 stuff going on there....PFF telling folks not to believe their eyes and ears.

I use Pro Football Reference.   Please advise if there is a better location to retrieve the actual NFL stats?  Maybe they haven't fully updated.

PFF and fantasy football sites IMO aren't where it's at.   They seem to be in the entertainment game and manufacturing debate stage.

I don't think we need to argue over the existence of the drops. Look at the film. Instead of arguing about was this a drop or was that a drop we should be looking at the throws from Bryce and recognizing the fact that there are so many 50/50 balls and passes that receivers have to make physical adjustments to even attempt to haul in. You cannot just put everything on the receiver at all times. For the WR to have success the QB has to be able to more often than not put them in a position to succeed. And we also have to be able to acknowledge when the QB is putting the receiver in jeopardy and that did happen Sunday particularly with Renfrow. I mean even a guy like TMac with his catch radius has faced a challenge hauling in passes from Young. And we're pretty hyped about him. Legette and Sanders I will say have underwhelmed. That's something the head coach needs to sort out. But we still have a really good RB room and we have the highest paid OL for 2025 by a significant margin. Nobody here even necessarily expected Bryce and the team to win many games. They just expected to see competency and something really anything to build on going forward. What we did not want to see was multiple steps back again. And with the investments that have been made there's really no excuse.

Just an FYI, it says this at the top of the page for advanced receiving stats, so they may not be fully updated yet. "Advanced stats are updated the Wednesday following the week's games. The advanced stats shown here are updated through week 0 of the 2025 season"

Fox sports tracks drops as well.

Total bullshit stat. Cam Ward’s receivers dropped 8 passes Sunday.

I could argue how wrong this is from our game but yeah my mind immediately went to the Titans as well. This stat line is not correct.

They aren't WRs though. I think the OP is just about wide out drops

You aren't going to make any headway.

The image attached with that post amuses me considering there isn’t a player or coach that hasn't or won't get thrown under a burning bus to deflect blame from #9. If the kid was showing flashes of brilliance throughout his 31 career games that would be one thing but the majority of them are either historically awful or mid.

Do they not count XL not getting his 2nd foot in as a drop?

In a true sideline toe tap type of catch, I don't think it should be ruled a drop as that's just a difficult play to make anyways.

But when he's just catching a ball in stride and takes 2 full huge steps as he's catching the ball so that his 2nd foot comes down out of bounds, to me, that should be considered a drop, as your below average college WR would have been able to get their 2nd foot down in that situation.

Yeah I mean that dumbass play by XL where he didn't get his feet in might as well. He a drop. But it doesn't make up for all of the mistakes Bryce young made once again in the season opener
